Playoffs Week 5 Wednesday & Thursday Previews

No too much action yesterday as the 3 matches were played at the same time but I did manage to get +0.328 units on profit mainly because of a planned bet on the Charleroi corners after they fell behind.

Standings Playoff 1

Antwerp vs Genk

The difference between the top 3 and bottom 3 in playoff 1 so far has been quite massive so on paper Genk should be the obvious winner here. however, Genk is coming off 2 though losses first against Club Brugge with a 1-0 late penalty and 1-2 against Union who played a style they really just don't match up well against. So they moved from the 1st place to the 3rd place and the question is if they are mentally affected by this or not today. With 2 matches against on paper the weakest team Antwerp, a 6 on 6 could put them fully on track again for the title. Honestly based on what Antwerp have shown and the trend between the top and bottom 3 I do just expect Genk to be the better team today taking the initiative. I took 0.2 units on Genk 1H -0.25 Corners @ 1.863, 0.1 unit each on Genk -0.25 @ 1.924 & Genk Team Total Over 1.5 @ 1.960 all with an eye to possibly take more in-game

Anderlecht vs AA Gent

Anderlecht managed to start really well at home against Genk but didn't manage to bring the game last week against Antwerp in a match that ended in a 0-0 draw where both teams had their momentum at points in the match. AA Gent despite showing ok things in earlier weeks just totally got blown away by Club Brugge last weekend with extremely poor defense. Both are just 1 point apart from each other and I do expect AA Gent to put up a better performance today. However, I just don't trust them enough to actually be willing to back them. With the 3rd place out of sight, a draw also would not be a major surprise as that keeps the status quo. Basically I have no real clue what to think of this match to place even a semi-confident bet. No Pre-Game Bets

Club Brugge vs Union SG

Club Brugge so far has been the best team overall in the playoffs and are now in the lead and in pole position to win the title. Union has shown the best work ethic and especially against Genk showed the needed fighting power totake the points home. I do kind of expect that they will try to do the same thing on Thursday against Club Brugge and the question is if this will be enough to keep Brugge from winning. They also have been extremely efficient in the chances they create and haven't given much away defensively. My notes after the match in Genk say "Union 1st half Under ??" which I'm leaning toward even though Club Brugge generally is a great 1st half team especially against weaker teams. I kind of feel like caution and not giving anything away will be the approach in this match with a goal that possibly could blow things right open. I also think over 90 minutes Club Brugge should come out on top but the fact that a draw would not be the end of the world for them makes me cautious on the current odds and wait for a possible -0.25 line. I only took 0.1 units on 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.162, which felt worth the risk.
