Saturday turned out to be one of the most boring football days of the season so far with 2 matches that ended in a 0-0 score where I didn't have a single bet on (that's usually a win on that scoreline) and an ok match between Antwerp and Genk where the visitors confirmed their good form. I did manage to hit my main under bet on that match also for as small overall profit. 4 Matches on Sunday

Union vs Cercle Brugge

Union disappointed in the 1st half against a good Genk last week but it was only because of a goalkeeper mistake that they came 1-0 behind and they were better again in the 2nd half unable to turn it around. This played out a classic playoff 1 scenario where the team in the lead gets a hit on their head with a hammer after the halved points and they are now even with Anderlecht in 1st place. This is certainly something that can become a mental issue for them but for now based on their 2nd half I still consider Union as the biggest title contender. Cercle Brugge at home came away with a very flattering 1-1 draw against Club Brugge in a match where mainly the 2nd half was clear. Cercle looked tired there while Club was way better failing to finish their chances. I don't expect too much from Cercle these playoffs and I expect this to be confirmed today. However, the odds on Union have dropped a bit to a point where they are no longer attractive to me. My main angle on this match is to wait until half time and afterward possibly back Union. Cercle against top teams this season away had 4 out of 5 matches end with 13+ corners in total. So the over corners is also something I look at and I took 0.00737 ETH on Over 11 corners @ 2.500 over at Dexsport.io

Eupen vs Kortrijk

Kortrijk at the end of the regular season became a hot team showing good thing better than any of the other playdown teams. They got from a position where they looked dead now to being equal to the others and 6 points behind on Charleroi with a match extra to play. So in theory, they have things in their own hands still. Eupen ended the season pretty bad and have been in a constant downtrend after a good start. The thing that makes it a bit tricky is that there have been a 3-week break for these teams which might have broken the good streak Kortrijk was on. Overall though, I do see Kortrijk in a better position to get something going in the playdowns and I consider their team as higher quality. Eupen did change their coach which might bring something of a shock effect but I honestly doubt it. Given everything, I was willing to take a 0.4 unit pre-game position on Kortrijk +0.25 @ 1.931 the odds came down first as not much was needed but since they got back up and are even a bit higher which isn't too good of an outlook. I will see how this one goes and just stick with what I have. A Draw also isn't the worst result for both teams.

Club Brugge vs Anderlecht

This is a tricky match and I have a hard time to put a finger on it. Anderlecht disappointed against Antwerp unable to show their best form but still winning with a 1-0 score thanks to a red card from Antwerp and an own goal. However, the last time they played in Brugge they put up an excellent team performance. Club Brugge played a poor 1st half against Cercle but dominated the 2nd half which resulted in 90 minutes where Club always should have won while they didn't as many times before this season. There is a 8 point gap between Brugge & Anderlecht while Genk is also running away from them. So I do expect that Club is going to be willing to take risks to go for the win. If my hand was forced, I would always take Anderlecht +0.5 but I don't trust their form right now based on their performance last week. I would not be surprised of they crawled back a bit with an eye to strike on counters. No Pre-Game Bets

Westerlo vs AA Gent

This is a Playoff 2 match between a home team who have nothing to play for and AA Gent who are going for the group win similar to last year. An interesting angle for this one is also that Westerlo refused to play at the end in the match against Genk which directly screwed AA Gent so I do see a revenge angle here. in the first week, AA Gent easily won from a very weak Standard in the 2nd half while Westerlo who had many missing lost with 2-0 against Stvv mostly being dominated in the 1st half. I do expect motivation to be sky high for AA Gent and took 0.3 units on a very straightforward AA Gent -0.5 @ 1.918 with a 0.092 unit side bet on AA Gent Team Total Over 1.5 @ 1.751. I also lean on the over since it's playoff 2 but I will wait to see how the match goes in-game for possibly more bets.
