Playoffs Week 2 Saturday Previews

Yet another weird Playoff 2 match with 5 goals and a crazy turnaround. Even though the full time result went against my expectations of a home win and the under, I still managed to make a 0.217 unit profit thanks to the 1st half which did go as expected and the corner bets. 3 Matches today so time to have a closer look...

Charleroi vs RWDM

This is the first playdown match under this format so something new and on top both these teams changed their coach. Charleroi is coming in with 29 points and a 5-point lead over 2nd and 3rd place with a total of 6 matches to be played. RWDM is last with 23 points and their main issue was that they take way too many goals against. Purely on quality, Charleroi should be the superior team especially with Zorgane back but based on the actual performances these teams should be way closers. Coming from behind also often gives a motivational edge. Basically there are way too many unknown variables in this match with 2 teams that changed their coach and I'm just going to wait and see before potentially betting anything. No Pre-Game Bets

Standard vs OH Leuven

Standard was an absolute joke in the 2nd half last week where they got crushed 4-0 by AA Gent. This made it so that their coach will do some rotation of players that seem to lack motivation which includes Alzate who is in fact their best player. Kawabe/Djenepo are also potentially benched so it's a big question of how much quality and automatisms will be left. This match on top will be played with no fans which is a great disadvantage for Standard. OHL has nothing to play for but they do seem to be willing to play still which showed last week in the 2nd half. The situation with no fans in the stadion and the rotation of Standard while both teams have nothing to play for makes this another very difficult one. Standard needs a win after the showing last week but I'm not sure that they are actually capable enough. My guess would be that this looks like a boring match with goals that playoff 2 style come flying out of thin air. No Pre-Game Bets

Antwerp vs Genk

Genk in week 1 of the playoffs was the revelation team with an overall good performance especially in the first half where they usually struggle. The goal however came from a goalkeeper mistake. Antwerp on the other hand was rather unlucky to lose against Anderlecht despite playing an ok match. An red card and an own goal made them lose this one. What can be seen is that playoff 1 brings much more closed-down matches. Genk as a team also has a huge divergence as they are +7.87% at home against the over but a whopping -52.47% away! However, the previous encounter ended in a 3-2 score and 2.3xg-1.8xg that was in week 13 so a long time ago. Genk isn't as strong offensively right now and the same can be said about Antwerp. The average number of goals in the matches against top teams from Antwerp home and Genk away including last week is just 1.8. This makes me cautiously lean toward the under. Genk also hasn't lost a single Corners matchup away against the top teams. I took 0.2 units on Under 2.75 @ 1.883 & 0.1 unit on 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.180.
