Playoffs Week 1 Friday | AA Gent vs Standard

These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...

The Playoffs in the Belgian League start today with just 6 matches today as only Playoff 1 and 2 who both have 6 teams in them get underway. I plan to keep a low profile on most of these matches and don't expect too many pre-game bets.

AA Gent vs Standard

AA Gent last season was in the same position where they just fell short to reach playoff 1 but they crushed it in Playoff 2 winning that and ending up also getting and European Ticket still. They also played against Standard last year in playoff 2 winning away with a 1-2 score and 3-1 at home. They ended the season strong with a clear 5-0 win against Charleroi and aside from Kums they are pretty complete. Fact remains that they are missing key players who left especially in the offense but are also the team with the biggest divergence between home and away totals going +29.20% at home against the asian over line but -36.07% away. For Standard this is actually the other way around with a -49.80% at home but +5.93% away from home. Standard managed to save themselves from the playdowns and might have a hard time to keep themselves motivated as start with 7 points behind. This also showed last season as they didn't manage to win a single playoff match. I do expect that they are going to take risks to take the win which would put them in the race. Playoff 2 historically also has been a quite overish league. AA Gent last season also had each of their matches go to at least 3 goals. I did take a small 0.2 unit bet on Over 2.75 @ 1.833 based on these stats and the type of game that I'm expecting.
