I managed to flip a switch after being someone who cared alot about fundamentals in crypto and started to get into Meme Coins with a small % of my overall portfolio trying to play this game and see how it goes. These are weekly update posts in what I believe could be a Meme Coin Summer...

The State of Memecoin Market

Bitcoin saw a decrease in value in the past week of -2.8% and altcoins got hit harder and memecoins even more so. It still doesn't feel like retail is fully here yet while the meme coin space keeps being inflated with more and more projects while the money isn't fully there to support it and most of them are having a hard time keeping attention on them. There are also more and more rug pulls of original devs with communities trying to take over to save their bags keeping the dream alive. Human nature also in this space is fully manifesting similar to the Venture Capitalists with a lot of insider trading and shady business where everyone tries to extract as much money as possible.

So much more ups and downs can be expected going forward and you need to be ready for this financially and emotionally which I guess most aren't.

Exploring the TON Ecosystem

Many in Crypto Twitter and on Youtube have been talking about the TON blockchain which is linked to Telegram for some weeks now and I finally put in the time today to explore it. The hardest thing in crypto by far is getting the users. Telegram even though I just don't like that app has a lot of them which puts TON as a chain that has the potential similar to BASE to do really well going forward. There is also the narrative that the leading memecoin on a chain is a leverage play which will do better if the chain does well. Everything points toward Resistance Dog to be the Memecoin on TON similar how BRETT is the meme on Base.

So I ended up getting ~500$ worth of REDO anticipating this to do similar things as Brett if TON continues to gain momentum. The idea for this is to be a long-term play just holding on and possibly accumulating along the way. I will also keep an eye on some of the other memecoins on TON but likely won't get into them as much.

New Buy

Aside from REDO, I had 1 other small buy this week of POPCAT which I have been watching waiting for it to hit a possible support point on the chart. I did buy 500 POPCAT at 0.2635$ with an eye to actually take profit if it reaches new highs touching the resistance line.

DONKE continues to be the coin I watch most closely even though it very much looks like it will be an uphill battle. The Community Takeover was completed and now it's a grind to win over new buyers one at a time. The core community holds most of the coins and they say they aren't selling, so the supply that is left is limited and not all that much is needed to make it go up a lot. At the same time the question remains how long everyone will stay willing to work for their bags. I continue to be patient as it's already this low and how much lower could it go right :)

I don't have any intentions to buy more unless one of the other coins would go totally carzy doing a 10x or more.

Politify Getting Crushed!

Both Boden & Tremp I had good hoped for but they are getting crushed hard in the past weeks. I just continue to hold my bags being ok in case they would go down to zero. Especially around Trump, there are so many different coins which the money gets split between.

However, it wouldn't be the first time when coins that look dead and buried out of nowhere started pumping getting everyone excited again.

New Week Watchlists!

PONKE is one that I continue to keep an eye on but it needs to come down some more before it gets in my potential buy zone.

NIGI is another one kind of similar to Donke; Doh, & Senk where there is quite the community and activity on Telegram while the marketcap has been beaten down a lot. I have not bought it yet but I consider taking a small position

MYRO is another one of these 'older' coins that has hit a possible support zone. However, I can't buy all of them andwill likely skip on this one. It's also quite common that these coins break the support and just continue to go lower.

TOOKER & GUMMY also seems to be beaten down a lot. While I'm not a fan of these coins as I see Gummy more as a way for crypto banter to get affiliate sign ups while I don't buy into the narrative of Tooker to ever become a 'meme news crypto media station'. There are still many influencers and one of the biggest crypto youtube channels behind it. My main concern of the coming airdrops for Gummy also seem to have solved at the coins were burned.

At the same time, my hands are somewhat tied as I'm not willing to bring more capital in while none of the current holdings have given pumps to take some profit into.

HARRYPOTTEROBAMASONIC10INU is another one that I have been watching for some time and want to buy. If it was available on Solana or BASE like MOG, I already would have bought some as it's not an option for me to use Ethereum which makes one of the centralized exchanges one of the only other options. It's the original meme with a completely stupid name which I still think is quite funny.

So more downside for now but I keep grinding it and holding on waiting for the pumps that eventually should come. Overall the damage was limited last week.

Conclusion

I'm still having plenty of fun with these Memecoins and I will see how it continues to evolve. A week is an eternity in meme coin world so I'll be back in 7 days with the next update...
