Only 5 Matches this weekend in the league as the Teams playing in Europe get a break to increase their chance to qualify. I had some bets on Thursday which did overall ok and put me up again on the season. I'm mainly interested in some of the totals this week with some bets on the 2 matches that will be played today...

Standard vs Cercle Brugge

Standard looks to be a team with a bit more quality compared to last season and should be more offensive-minded compared to the extreme Defensive approach from last year. Against the better teams however in the last 2 matches, they did crawl back. An open start at home against Dender also quickly became a match where both didn't want to take risks and after a solid first 15 minutes against La Louviere they crawled back after taking the lead. I do expect against Cercle that there will be intentions to play more forward. The visitors took their first win of the season last week in a match where they finally managed to score after failing in the first 3 matches. Not only did they score, they scored 4 so their confidence there should have gotten a boost. They also played a really good first half away against Club Brugge where a red card screwed them. My lean this season when it comes down to Standard is to bet the over as I see the line still overly influenced by last season. At the same time, they miss Henry which combied with the fact that Cercle Won last week and played great against Club makes Standard the Underdog. If Cercle was valued at +0.25, I might have given it a try but now with Standard as the favorite the only option for a side to pick is the home team . However, I opted for an initial Over bet with an eye to possibly increase this in-game depending on the match picture. 0.2 units on Over 2.25 @ 2.030 . If Standard were to take the lead, I might go for Cercle on the corners

Zulte-Wagregem vs Sint-Truiden

Zulte-Waregem coach before the start of the season stated how they were going to switch gears and become more defensive on the counters which especially against the top teams became a thing as they plaed with 10 in defense pretty much also getting a result. They finished at 100% against Anderlecht in a surprise 2-3 win and nearly held off Club Brugge with a very late 0-1 loss. However, it showed that they are capable and if they can hold off the big teams with the focus on a strong defense, they surely should be able to hold off the lower mid-table teams this way. So I don't all of a sudden see Zulte playing crazy offense as they did in the past. Stvv so far had a very easy schedule with matches against Gent, Charleroi (who both were not ready), Dender, & La Louviere. They capitalized on it and are near the top with 10 point on 12. This while I didn't find them all too impressive on the offensive end while they looked stable in the back only giving away 0.87xg on average. So I see this much as more likely to be a game where both teams look to win if possible on the counter without taking too much risk themselves. I took 0.375 units on 1st Half Under 1.25 @ 1.825 / 0.125 units on 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.310 / & 0.1 unit on Under 2.75 @ 1.999
