Saturday was another grind day with a bit of profit overall but nothing more as the main bet I had ended up in a push. I am starting to get my drive back a bit after a horribe week 27 and am looking forward to the 4 matches on Sunday...
Club Brugge vs Anderlecht
Club Brugge so far this season has not impressed in the league as they cotinue to have difficulties to break down a low block and push when they take the lead. Then now though have a clear goal after being eliminated in the Champions League and they have their entire A-Squad available after a week of rest. I do see them as the favorite to take the title, but at the same time am not sure at all that they will deliver a solid performance in most of the upcoming matches also because they do get quite some goals against. Anderlecht after a bad streak where it felt impossible for them to find the goal, now in the last 2 matches scored 9 goals out of 3.22 xg which included 2 penalties while somehow marking from every impossible angle. They are near sure of a playoff spot and still also have the cup so this away match against Club Brugge has no stress attached to it. Earlier in the season, they went to win against Club Brugge (where they played one of their best matches of the season) and against Union. Those 2 matches were at home though and with old coach Hasi. The most likely scenario today is for Club Brugge to simply be too strong for Anderlecht resulting in a win by at least 2 goals. However, Brugge for me hasn't shown enough in the league while Anderlecht currently has the luck momentum on their side. The -1 line on Club early this week was tempting but I skipped and now it's way lower so I'm waiting to see what this one gives in-game.

AA Gent vs Kv Mechelen
AA Gent last week again showed that they simply aren't good or stable enough at the moment with a 3-0 loss against Genk and only 1 really good chance that could have gone in. They still suffer some injuries with Delorge, Samoise, Paskotsi, & Goore. Basically, they are a team who can't be trusted both ways. They are in 8th place and can jump back into playoff 1 with a win today with 2 martches to go where they potentially can take points, so they have a clear goal. Kv Mechelen last week had another match where they deseved to lose but somehow took the last second win which resulted in an explosion of joy and their coach apologizing for the win. They are in 5th place and 4 points clear to drop out of playoff 1 with 2 difficult matches ahead against Anderlecht and Club Brugge. So despite the fact that they are in a good position to reach playoff 1, the pressure surely will still be on and a draw likely will be enough for them since AA Gent is a direct rival. If anything, I would not be surprised if the scenario of AA Gent needing the win while Mechelen would sign for a draw brings a match picture where the home team attacks and the visitors crawl back. This despite the fact that they likley will start with other intentions. So it's a tricky match between 2 teams that I don't trust to back at the moment. The scenario that I hope for is one where mechelen starts out with good intentions and possibly creates a couple corners to eventually crawl back which leaves a good window to back AA Gent on the corners. Zulte-Waregem vs Standard
Zulte-Waregem has been one of the better playing teams and it's just a miracle that they ended up with 3 losses in their last 3 games. Their weakness remains in the defense as they simply get too easily stupid avoidable goals against. I do expect another good match from them but this is also reflected in the line and the odds this time around. Standard is in a quite safe spot and somehow, they managed to lose only 1 out of their last 5 league matches. Last week, they took a draw at home against La Louviere with my notes saying 'oppose Standard'. The week before away against Genk they won with 0-3 as they were secure in defense and extremely efficient on the counter. This scenario is what is really keeping me from backing Zulte-Waregem. I did take just 0.1 unit on
Zulte-Waregem 1st Half -0.25 @ 2.120 which felt too high and I mainly am keeping an eye out on the Zulte-Waregem 1st Half corners. I did take a 80 USDC crypto bet on
Zulte-Waregem 1st Half -1.5 Corners @ 2.500 and will be looking to get in with my regular stakes early in-game.
Sint-Truiden vs Cercle Brugge
Sint-Truiden took a 1-0 loss last week away gainst Antwerp showing that they have difficulties with very physical teams. I would say a case can be made for both the scenario where they are over their top now and will have more difficult matches or that nothing changes and they just continue to play freely and solid. Opposing them right now feels more like a gamble though. Cercle Brugge are coming off a draw last week in a match where they dominated the start but simply fell short in the 2nd half to claim the win. The week before, they played a really sold match on the road winning against a really weak AA Gent and they are a team on my list to possibly back. I'm tempted to take some on Cercle Brugge on the 1st half +0.75 corners handicap but at the same time I think Stvv will also try to go forward so the 1st Half corners over might be a better option. I will see how it goes and maybe take some on that in-game. Neither an easy home win from Stvv against Cercle who shows that their lights go out at times or a straight up away win would be a surprise to me, so my hands are pretty much tied.
