I can't complain about Friday where the main bet ended up as quite a big winner despite the fact that Genk got behind twice and there certainly were situations where it would have lost. However, at 1.77-2.99xg it was certainly not an undeserved win, and I would take it again maybe at slight lower stake if I could. At the same time, it really shows that easy wins on strong bets are very hard to come by these days. 3 Matches as always on Saturday...
OH Leuven vs Dender
OHL took an important win last week away against a weak AA Gent and after getting ahead at minute 17' they already started to win time and went more defensive where they were pretty comfortable not giving too much away. They are still inside a playdown spot and could really use a win today against direct opponent Dender while a draw also would not be the end of the world with an eye to keep the gap in the playdowns. Overall OHL has shown some signs of improvement and it would not be a major surprise to see them going on a good run, at the same time, I just can't trust this team yet especially as the favorite. Dender some weeks ago had a better period but this was not continued now with 2 losses and a draw in their last 3 matches. They lost deserved with a 1-0 score last week against Zulte-Waregem in an under match. I have no clear theory about this match whatsoever, how it most likely is going to play out, so I'm just going to stay away and wait to possibly spot something in-game that is value. OHL is without goalkeeper Leysen who has been quite good this season and also without Maziz who can be replaced.

Charleroi vs AA Gent
Charleroi went on a big winning steak also playing good which got them in contention for a playoff 1 spot again. However, this streak was somewhat broken after they rotated last weekend playing with a semi b-squad against Dender which ended in a 3-4 score while they stood no chance in the cup match against Union. This leaves them with some fatigue and possibly a blow in their confidence. it remains to se seen if they just continue to good form they showed at home with a full A-Squad against a team they should be able to beat on a good day. AA Gent is at an equal 33 points just 3 short of Playoff 1, but are coming off a 1-3 loss against Leuven where they had a very weak start and where overall they were not good enough and still vulnerable in defense. They are still without Delorge and Samoise while Van Der Heyden is suspended. I can see why Charleroi is made the -0.5 favorite in this match as right now when both teams would play at the best that they have shown, they should be a bit better. It also remains to be seen what the intention is of both teams as a draw keeps the status quo leaving both in contention for playoff 1. Especially since both teams have fairly easy schedules ahead. Based on the last 4 weeks, both are #1 & #2 in xg created at 1.74 & 1.90 while they are at 1.36 & 1.31xg against in the mid-table. Last 12 matches of Charleroi went to at least 9 corners and the last 4 of AA Gent went to 11 or more. If feels like this one can go many different directions depending on the intentions of both teams. The one thing I would say is that the team who scores first likely will crawl back which might create some betting opportunities. If my hand was forced, I would say that there might be some value on the draw but at the same time it feels like a gamble.

Standard vs Union SG
Standard has dropped to 10th place, just 5 points clear of the playdowns after they were inside the top 6 for a while, which was a small miracle. Last week they lost without a chance against Club Brugge in a match where they played an enforced defense that eventually got broken for them to lose 3-0 without Brugge really pushing. They were without Teuma in that match who is important and will be back today. The week before, they won at home against a rather weak Anderlecht where they were super efficient on the gifts they got from Anderlecht. They are a team who rarely get above 1xg created while Union ranks best at just 0.77xg given away on average. The visitors rarely are that impressive but they have been solid in defense and often just end up winning the match. They have been struggling a bit though to beat the heavy handicaps and away from home are only 3.5W-7.5L-1P against their handicaps. An interesting fact is that Standard only lost 1 first half at home. It does feels like a match where Standard will once again put up a defense and Union patiently will keep the ball without taking too many risks that eventually will lead to the 0-1 with a possible late counter for 0-2.
