I was quite focused on Saturday while most of the lines and odds were just razor sharp, so I ended up with limited action but some profit to show for in the end. There are 4 more matches on Sunday and I aim to keep the sharpness going into them...
Genk vs Mechelen
Genk at this point remains a team with a lot of potential but they yet have to show it with a stand-out performance. They started the season very vulnerable in the defense but this mostly semed to be solved in their previous matches. At home, they are a whopping 0W-5L-1P against their asian handicaps and it's very hard to back them as a clear favorite. Mechelen is a team who have shown good things including in the match at home against Union where they took a deserved draw. They also are positive on their handicaps both home and away. At the same time, I see them as a team who at any point in time can go on a losing streak dropping their form and having an impossible time to take any points especially away. The odds kind of suggest that Genk will have a great match today while Mechelen will have an off day which is something I'm right now not willing to gamble on as it is always more likely for the current trends to continue. Looking at the xg, Genk hasn't really created that much at an average of just 1.28 on the season while Mechelen is at 1.26xg. Both are a bit higher on xg against at 1.34 & 1.69. I can see how this matchup brings about feelings of a goal fest which is I believe the reason why the line is set rather high. I'm willing to oppose this with 0.25 units on
Under 3 @ 2.195 as it feels just too much. This with an eye to possibly opt out if possible or needed. I expect Genk to get the ball an Mechelen to try their luck on the counters while keeping things closed defensively. I'm also leaning toward Genk on the 1H corners handicap.
Antwerp vs Dender
Antwerp this season has been quite bad with a defensive coach who hasn't gotten fired (yet) as the board likely see it as a transition season with no real chance to relegate and it's the cheapest option to keep him on. In the last match his position was at risk and Antwerp was lucky to win with a 3-1 score from La Louviere after playing with 11 vs 10 for the entire 2nd half. They only had 1 clean sheet this season and I don't see the win last round change all too much. Most likely they will continue to just be quite the bad team who are at risk to end having to play the playdowns. Kerk, Foulom, Praet are back but their best struiker Janssen is injured. Dender is dead last in the league and have yet to take a win but pretty much every match they give off a sense that they actually aren't that bad. This was also the case at home against Zulte-Waregem which ended in a 2-2 draw. I kind of anticipated a +0.75 line on Dender which I would have taken the gamble on but it looks like the market is estimating the situation correctly as antwerp is the 2.075 favorite on the moneyline. It remains a home match where Antwerp always brings a bit more and they are coming off a win while for Dender Verrips is injured which again puts Dietsch in goal who hasn't left the best impression. Antwerp only managed to keep a clean sheet once this season while Dender who originally had extreme low xg in the last moths now managed to up it to 1+ (1.79 average) in their last 5 matches. So I kind of expect that Dender will be able to score. Again though the line and odds seem to be adjusted. So I'm left with my hands tied in this match and I will be going in with a lean on Dender Team Total Over seeing how it plays out and how the odds evolve.

La Louviere ve Anderlecht
La Louviere at home only has 1 loss so far and is seen as the 'giant killer' as they took a 1-0 win against Club Brugge, and a 0-0 draw against Union. They remain however the team with the lowest combined xg over the season at just 2.05. In the last 3 matches however, their number on xg against has gone up and was at 1.66-1.88-1.19 so it kind of feels like they are past the 100% focus on defense keeping things locked with everyone phase. At the same time, I don't think they all of a sudden will play full offense. Anderlecht got themselves in a positive spiral after winning deserved at home against Club Brugge. Their coach seems to have found the right lineup with both Bartaccini & Cvetkovic in the attack. The big question though is if they can now also show this away from home and for 90 minutes. I am kind of willing to trust Anderlecht at this moment but so does the market as they are the -0.5 favorite today while I was more eying to possible take a -0.25 line. I can see a scenario where if Anderlecht scores first, things might open up a lot. Right now though, I have to repect what La Louviere have brought at home and Anderlecht who might not be able to replicate what they showed at home against Club.

OH Leuven vs Sint-Truiden
OHL under new coach Mazzu feels like it became a team that isn't willing to play and just tries to finish their counter chances at 200% which so far worked out for them as they had a 1-2 win over Cercle (0.61xg) where they did come back from 1-0 behind scoring with an impossible distance. In their last home match against AA Gent they won with 4-0 (1.22xg) scoring on every single counter they got. They lost their last 2 matches on the corners with 8-3 & 0-9 scores and only really look willing to go forward if they are behind. Stvv is 4th in the league and continues to put good things on the pitch. They had a really easy schedule at the start of the season and did not collapse when they started to face stronger opponents now sitting in 4th place. They won 1-0 against a poor Standard at home in a 1-way match with them mainly creating corners. In the match before at home against Antwerp is was a similar pictire with 11 vs 10 and an 1-0 win at the end failing to increase the lead despite domination. I see the previous 2 wins from Leuven more as a result of extreme efficeincy while Stvv has been running under their expected goals. I expect a match where OHL again starts of not willing to take any initiative and just lays back giving the ball to Stvv who likely cautiously will try to go forward. I was willing to back Stvv as the underdog taking 0.2 units on
Stvv +0 @ 2.058 and I will also keep an eye out to possibly back stvv on the corners. I also took 0.196 units on
