It was a really solid Friday match which ended in a 0-0 score delivering on all the under bets minus some that I used to reduce exposure. I'm hoping to continue on the good momentum today in the 3 matches that look quite challenging at the moment to find an edge in. Here it goes...
Union vs Cercle Brugge
Union is leading in the ranking and they are beating their handicaps this season, going 8.5W-4.5L-1P with those results mainly coming at home where they are 6W-0L-0P. However their general performances simply haven't been that impressive. They took a draw away against Mechelen, were helped by the ref in the away match against Zulte, were not impressive against Stvv at home despite winning 2-0, took a deserved but exagerrated win at home against Charleroi,... So the pattern is there where in most matches they kind of dissapoint but still win and cover the handicaps. Cercle Brugge is 2nd last in the standings being ranked I would say below their real level even though they don't always play that great. They lost at home against OHL in a match they could have won, same happened away i La Louviere, and they also were the slight better team against Zulte-Waregem which ended in a draw. They simply do not have any momentum or confidence going for them. So purely based on the trend, this should turn out in a home with where Union covers the handicap likely in a way where Union gets more than they really deserve while Cercle gets left behind again. Both these teams ranh #1 & #2 in xg created in the last 4 weeks at 2.12 & 1.89 while they are at 1.22 & 1.26 xg against. Union though remains the lowest xg team agains on the season at just 0.74. I would say either the trend continues (which I never oppose) and Union Wins by 2+ goals or Cercle Doesn't lose by more than 1 goal if the actual average performance quality of both teams so far prevails. I don't want to make a choice so I'm sticking to

Westerlo vs AA Gent
Westerlo has shown to be a team with potential but they have gotten in somewhat of a losing streak lately. They lost against Charleroi 2-0 deserved without convincing. At home against Genk who came only to take the win and not to play great, they lost 0-1 despite pushing the entire 2nd half unable to create much. They were the only 1st division team who got eliminated in the cup. They didn't get further than a 1-1 at home against Dender despite 2.03xg and 11-3 in corners. Against a Defensive La Louviere they also failed to get passed a 0-0 score in a match where one of the key Players Rommens got injured who still is out now. Against the asian handicaps this season they are 5W-8L-1P and expecially at home they have been an Under team at just 1W-6L against the generally high over totals. At the same time, away they average 4.14 goals and are one of those teams where any match can turn into a goalfest. AA Gent is also a team who can't really be trusted especially away. Their last 4 away matches they lost getting 4 goals against showing weakness defensively on counters, while at home they had multiple wins with 4+ goals. I see AA Gent as one of the teams who are actually better compared to last season but so far it's mostly in potential and not always on what they bring on the pitch. Defensively, they possibly have some issues with Duverne injured and both Paskotsi & VD Heyden questionable. This might bring Kotto in the team who hasn't shown to be good. I can't back AA Gent away from home until the moment they actially put up a good performance. It does feel like a match where both defenses might be at some point vulnerable but with the statistics of Westerlo who have been an under team at home I can't get myself to bet an Over 3 line. AA Gent has yet to win a 1st half away while Westerlo only lost twice which gives me a small lean on Westerlo 1H +0. I will wait and see what the match brings and just stay away for now.

Club Brugge vs Charleroi
Club Brugge similar to Union hasn't really impressed in the league but still managed to take the points with the difference that they haven't beaten their handicaps at 4W-6L-4P. They do however have a slight positive number at home. They did lose last match against Anderlecht deserved so this might be somewhat of a bounce back spot for them. Charleroi is 9th in the league and are coming off a 2-0 win against Westerlo which was not 100% convincing. Away against Standard (who scored at 100%) they lost 3-1 showing that they lack scoring power and don't have the means to make a difference when they are behind. At the say time, away against Union which can be seen as a reference for this match they showed to be better than the 3-1 result indicated. I do expect a match where Brugge has the ball patiently trying to break the charleroi defense who will be looking to get in some counters. I do see Club Brugge winning in the end and the -1 line for me is just good enough to take an initial 0.1 unit on
Club Brugge -1 @ 1.891. I'm also leaning on Brugge on the 1st half corners but I'm in no hurry and will just watch how the match plays out in-game before taking more.
