On this occasion, I bring you my experience visiting one of the most beautiful places in my beloved city of Valencia, Venezuela: the Ateneo de Valencia, which was recently reopened after a long period of renovations. Let me tell you, it was well worth the wait.

This iconic space has become a true cultural gem. Its infrastructure is worthy of a space that celebrates both national and international artistic works. It makes me happy and surprised to see that in this country, so battered by various social and economic situations, culture is being given the space it deserves. It gave me hope to know that beautiful things are happening amidst the chaos.

I witnessed one of the most beautiful art exhibitions I've ever seen (I haven't seen many, by the way). I'd been wanting to visit this incredible exhibition for days, and I finally had the chance. It was a very rewarding experience. I don't know much about art, but what I do know is that it was a completely wonderful experience.

The art exhibition I had the pleasure of seeing was by a renowned Colombian artist named Botero, who passed away in 2023. He was famous for his unique style of representing voluminous and voluptuous figures, or as we say in my country, with "excess beauty".

I had the pleasure of visiting this exhibition with my son. In fact, in the photos I took with the permission of the venue's administrators, as long as I didn't use flash, my son and I can be seen reflected. At that moment, I remembered @palomap3, whom I once saw reflected in one of her photographs. I found it pleasant to see my reflection in Botero's works. I have no idea why, but I loved that my presence was reflected in the images.

For some reason, I thought the marvels before my eyes were replicas of the original works, but the guide told us that the pieces we were seeing were original works by Botero, purchased from the artist by the Governor's Office, intended directly for to the Ateneo of Valencia. I felt a great relief knowing that my eyes were beholding something original, created by this great artist who knew how to represent the beauty of grandeur in his works.

As I wandered around and admired the paintings and sculptures, I was curious why they didn't allow flash photography. I later found out that the photons of light emitted by the flash interact with the artwork and gradually reduce its quality. Very interesting. Quantum theories of light and the double-slit experiment crossed my mind, and everything made sense.

I was amazed by the immense sculpture that greets you upon entering the exhibition: a huge, robust cat that occupies almost the entire room, truly voluptuous and imposing.

Anyway, I loved this experience, unique and indescribable for me because my son told me he didn't see anything extraordinary. I left there ecstatic from the wonder of art and its contemplation, and my son left as if he'd seen three pairs of socks. Today's youth! Oh, what would Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Pablo Picasso say about this lack of artistic sensitivity and appreciation of art in my heir!

Me alegra y me sorprende ver que en este país tan golpeado por diversas situaciones tanto sociales como económicas, se le de a la cultura el espacio que se merece. Me dió fé saber que están sucediendo cosas bonitas en medio del caos.

He sido testigo de una de las exposiciones artísticas más hermosas que he visto (no he visto muchas por cierto). Tenía días queriendo visitar esta increíble exposición y se me dió la oportunidad y ha sido una experiencia muy gratificante. No sé mucho de obras artisticas, pero lo que si sé es que fue una experiencia completamente maravillosa.

La exposición artística que tuve el agrado de presenciar fue de un reconocido artista colombiano llamado Botero, fallecido en el año 2023, famoso por su estilo único de representar figuras voluminosas y voluptuosas o como dicen en mi país con "exceso de belleza".

Tuve el agrado de visitar está exposición con mi hijo, de hecho en las fotos que tomé con consentimiento de los administradores del lugar, siempre y cuando no usará flash, nos vemos reflejados mi hijo y yo. Me acordé en ese momento de @palomap3 quien en una oportunidad la vi en un reflejo de una de sus fotografías. Me pareció agradable ver mi reflejo en las obras de Botero. Por alguna razón pensé que la maravilla que contemplaban mis ojos eran réplicas de las obras originales, pero la guía del lugar nos dijo que las obras que veíamos eran obras originales de Botero, compradas al artista por la Gobernación, destinadas directamente al Ateneo de Valencia. Sentí un gran alivio al saber que mis ojos contemplaban algo original, hecho por este gran artista que supo representar la belleza de lo grande en sus obras.

Mientras recorría el lugar y contemplaba los cuadros y esculturas, sentí curiosidad de saber el porqué no dejaban tomar fotos con flash, cuestión que averigüe después y aprendí que la interacción de los fotones de luz emitidos por el flash interactúan con la obra y reducen poco a poco la calidad de la pieza. Muy interesante. Por mi mente pasaron teorías cuánticas de la luz y el experimento de la doble rendija y todo cobró sentido.

Quedé maravillada de la escultura inmensa que al entrar a la exposición nos recibe, un inmenso gato. robusto que ocupa caso todo el salón, verdaderamente voluptuoso e imponente.

En fin, me encantó esta experiencia, única e indescriptible para mí porque mi hijo me dijo que no veía nada de extraordinario. Yo salí de allí extasiada por la maravilla del arte y su contemplación y mi hijo salió como si hubiera visto tres pares de media. La juventud de ahora !Oh que diría Leonardo da Vinci, Miguel Ángel, y Pablo Picasso sobre esta falta de sensibilidad artística y apreciación del arte de mi heredero!
