The need for a reformation in the healthcare system

Health is wealth, they say, but when a person's health begins to fail, an urgent need for medical professionals is required.

The health sector plays a very key role in the economy of every nation because if people are sick and do not receive medical attention, the results can be devastating.

The health sector consists of various professionals, from doctors to pharmacists and medical laboratory technicians, nurses, physiologists, therapists, and other medical professionals. I can't mention them in this post, but you will agree with me that they all play a vital role in making sure people's lives are safe.

I wouldn't say doctors in my country received the best treatment, especially the ones in public hospitals. Sometimes you go to the public hospitals and find that on days when patients are many, you find just one doctor attending to an average of 50 to 60 people, which can be very tiring.

I wouldn't outrightly say that the doctors working in government hospitals are not properly paid, but you also find that there is a lack of equipment in most of the government hospitals.

There was a time I had a toothache, and I needed an extraction for that tooth. I went to the government hospital close to me. On getting there, I was told that the equipment needed to perform the type of extraction that was required wasn't available. I had to do the extraction at a private clinic that belongs to one of the doctors that worked in the government hospital.

Most of these doctors and health workers understand the fact that the government isn't really helpful in the situation and so sometimes come together to build private hospitals where they refer some of the patients that need attention that the public hospitals can not take care of, which will mean more spending on the part of the patients.

The reality of the lack of quality attention to the public health care service provider in my country has seen a rise in the rate of doctors migrating to other countries where they are better paid and also have access to the needed equipment in order to improve their skills, or they rather seek employment in the private hospitals and other medical firms where they are paid higher.

The reality for a lot of patients who cannot afford private health care services is very pitiful because you find out that so many patients could have survived only if they had access to proper healthcare facilities, which in most cases are not available in public hospitals.

A lot of patients also have to wait long hours to see doctors because there are not enough doctors to adequately go round the number of patients on the ground.

In the past I've had medical health workers go on strike, but the reality of it is that a lot of patients who couldn't afford private facilities suffered, and some lives were lost, and yet the government hasn't really done much.

For me, going on strike will not help the situation because in the process of going on strike, lives will be lost, so I think people have to be educated on the benefits of routine health checkups, and the doctors forum (if they have a forum) should create an awareness so that during the next elections the people can vote for a leader that has the interest of the health sector at heart.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Doctors in the public sectors are the ones truly suffering because those in the private sectors still enjoys.

The problem boils down to how the government are not paying attention.

I think this is the more reason we have to check the vision and intensions of aspiring leaders before we vote cause if those leaders have the people's interests at heart then they will make things work

Its all cock and bull story. They will only pretend they have the masses interest at heart ♥️, but once they are voted in, its another agenda.

They are all corrupt and without conscience
