To everything there is a season a time and purpose for everything under the heavens.

A wise man once said if you start a journey and so not complete it you will never know the joy of finishing.

31th January 2026 marks the end of an academic journey which started a long time ago

After about 10 years of rejected application with 5 waec exams(west Africa examination council) I finally got admitted into the federal university of agriculture Abeokuta (funaab)

I gained direct entry admissions to 200 level in the department of agricultural economics and farm management through the interim joint admissions board after 1 year of study program at one of the ijmb study centers.

I joined my colleagues who started their program in 2019 in 2021 because COVID-19 brought everything to a stand still after my first semester there was an 8 months strike by the academic staff union of universities after the strike things went back to normal and the journey continued.

Moving from my place of birth and origin was quite challenging as I didn't understand the Yoruba language but with determination I scaled through.

As an event decorator moving from my base where I was well known was also a whole new experience but with time I gained some ground and made some connections that made me have event jobs.

Combining event decorations and studies wasn't so easy but I was able to build relationships which I could leverage on the journey was full of ups and downs times when I felt like quiting but I kept going and now it has paid.

As funaab had her 33rd convocation ceremony it was a time of reflection of how small consistent effort compound into huge results.

Families of graduating students from different parts of the country came to graze the occasion and celebrate with their loved ones on the milestone achievement.

I too wasn't left out because even though my parents couldn't make because of distance my younger sister dis as she travelled all the way from Lagos to celebrate with me.

As an event planner and decorator I took the initiative to supply chairs and canopies to those who needed them and in the end I served about 28 people delivering 21 canopies of which some people had to share 55 dozens of chairs delivered and about 54 tables.

In the end I had a wonderful time celebrating the milestone achievement after such a long wait which is also a reminder that if you want something hard enough the universe has a way of giving it to you.

Thanks for stopping by.
