Life has rules which one are you following

Right from the beginning of time, man has always been governed by rules and regulations in order to create balance in every system.

Rules, or directions, as it were, are, in my opinion, principles that govern the process or ways by which things should be done in a system, whether it's an organization or a church or an institution. The rules I set lay down principles that everyone must adhere to.

These principles are set in order to condition people to a particular way of life; for example, in school there are certain types of clothes and certain characters you can't exhibit as a student.

Any student found breaking these rules could be expelled or disciplined in an appropriate manner, and that's the reason when students graduate, the certificate says "having been found worthy both in learning and character," and the certificate is awarded.

In the workplace also there are various rules that govern work ethics, and if an employee is found lacking in anything, they face a query from the management.

The truth is the world has seen so much excellence it doesn't give room for mediocrity, so if anyone must succeed in life, they must learn to play by the rules or, better still, be ready to create their part, which will eventually also follow some rules they will make along the way.

A wise man once said the best way to become successful is to walk the path of those who have become successful, and trust me, to walk the path of someone who has become successful, you have to follow the set of rules they followed.

Life is a journey that we all take between birth and death, and the interesting thing is people have walked the path before us, and whether you like it or not, you have to follow this process.

This is not to say that you can't improve, but then again somebody would ask why improve what's working already, and that's where innovation comes in, but with innovation comes hard work and more rules.

So everyone has a choice to either play by the rules or just ignore them, but whichever choice you make in the end, you will know if it was worth it or not.

Personally I feel that I should follow the rules that will lead to a desired end because, you see, wherever you find yourself, you're either following the right rules or you are following the wrong rules, and they both lead to a destination, so your destination will determine the set of rules you will choose to abide by.

This is my response to the fifth topic on the weekend experience writing engagement for this weekend.

Thank you for stopping by.
