"From Delay to Destiny: My First Degree Journey Ends with a May of Miracles"
Whatever has a beginning must surely have an end, and today, with great joy in my heart, what seemed like the journey of a thousand miles came to an end talking about the journey through school for my first degree.
In my last post here about a week ago, I talked about how I was starting my final exams on the day I was born. Coincidentally, today, the 29th of May, 2025, happens to be the 32nd marriage anniversary of my parents, and I can't help but be grateful because these kinds of pleasant surprises and double celebrations don't just happen.
Some time ago I wrote about how I was struggling to get an admission into the university from the year 2010 up until the year 2020, when I finally got an admission into the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, FUNAAB.
After trying for so long, I decided to put in for an A-level program for one year, after which I also took the JAMB exam, and guess what? I got a double admission, which also came in the month of May, because I remember getting a call from the computer center where I registered about 2 weeks before my birthday that year telling me the good news of my admission, and then another week passed after my birthday, I got a second call and was informed of the second admission, and of course I chose the first because it was a direct entry admission.
Due to the COVID protocol and all, I resumed school in November of 2021, and the journey started properly then. An unprecedented eight-month strike made us lose a whole academic section in 2022, but I kept pushing, and through the thick and thin, God helped me.
Once upon a time, what was once a prayer point has become a reality, and all through this phase I can say God has been faithful, and I am grateful to my group of friends, my reading patterns. We call ourselves Great Friends, and our slogan is Excellent Result. They were just so amazing, putting heads together to solve problems from past questions and making sure every one of us gets it right.
And through it all I discovered that
I was born in May.
Got my admission in May.
Started my final exams in May on my birthday.
And I signed out in May on the day of my parents' 32nd wedding anniversary.
God did it.
Thank you for stopping by.
