When did My Love for Hive begin?

avatar
(Edited)

Hello friends and Hivians. Here we are it's 1 August and couple of things I will share and do today. First off happy 4th birthday to the Loving Hive Community and happy #HPUD to all. So today I first will share what was the first moment I fell in love with Hive ❤️ Than will follow it up with something many of us do is participate in Hive Power Up Day.

So there is an ongoing initiative going on in the Loving Hive Community headed by @rutablockchain. It's an opportunity to tell your story about when you first fell in love with Hive. To check out his post about it click here. I now take this opportunity to invite 3 friends to this initiative and they are: @pinkchic @lhes and @asiaymalay. I was invited by @jlufer to take on this initiative.

It didn't take long to really appreciate this platform. I can remember writing my introduction article and receiving so much encouragement. Not only just all the welcomes but lots of useful information was provided to me. Some I knew from a previous platform that I use to blog in. I'd say I got my first butterflies for Hive from participating in my first Hive Power Up Day.

I found it very interesting to see so many people writing articles on the first day of the month. I also got involved in the competitions that were held on that particular day. Some were intiatives held on the chain while others were communities offering something through Dischord. They really helped me build my Hive Power starting out as a little fish. Getting rewards, assigned votes, and hive delegations really made it a no brainer to grow my HP share here. I also had three or four generous users that powered me up early on in my Hive journey.

I can't go on without mentioning two particular contests on Hive Power Up Day. The first I will mention is the Power of Three. Three lovely ladies made up this initiative and they are all part of the Silver Bloggers Community as well. A community I was a little late joining but so glad I did. There hard work aimed to encourage new users on the Hive platform to power up on HPUD. I was very honored to be one of the authors who received 100 HP delegations from each them, not just for one month but two months consecutively.

The other HPUD initiative was headed by @traciyork and some other behind the scenes users. This was a competition that rewarded users who powered up the most hive based on their account percentage on HPUD with just one exception, you had to have a reputation level under 70. The reward pool contained so many prizes and so many users were involved in gifting them. I think I almost always finished somewhere between the numbers that gave rewards. A few times I finished up towards the top.

Both of these intiatives really started my love for Hive. I became friends with some of the contestants as well so it not only helped with my HP stake it gave me a few more connections. I quickly noticed on the platform through engaging there are many different cultures, users from anywhere imaginable, people of all ages, and a good mix of gender. All of this has no bearing on the respect between users which really is remarkable. What's not to love ❤️ about that. It's too bad these principles can't be applied throughout the globe between every country outside the chain. So there you have it I found my love for Hive through HPUD and since my first power up I haven't missed a single one.

Here we are it's HPUD and I again will be showing my love yet again to Hive by powering up 200 hive. But that's not all I'm going to do. I have also decided to power up two new users. Showing them some love in hopes that they will have the same love for Hive that I have.

With my power up today I'm a bit over 200 HP away from reaching 5K which should most likely happen by the next HPUD. Hopefully by years end I will reach 6K. Also this month I completed HPUM for the third consecutive month. It's something fun & challenging and I'm happy to reach this achievement again. One last thing is I now hold a reputation of 70. It seemed I was at 69 for what seemed like forever.

Well all things must come to an end and that's all I have for you today. Take care, stay safe and enjoy the rest of your week. Until next time!

Agree with you, do you also delegate?

Yes I do some delegating but my approach is to keep it at 20% or less. I do this so I can still provide something worthy in my opinion in the form of a vote.

That's nice!

I mostly delegate my HP for now because I see it as more profitable than voting as I only have few HP.

Thank you 😊

So many different ways to delegate. It all depends on many factors and we all have different perspectives. Whatever way suites a particular user good is best 😁

Wow. You saved a lot for this month hehe ..
I guess I started loving Hive because of the different writing contests I joined back then. I was also motivated by some individuals who constantly engaged in the platform. Moreover, there are a lot of communities here to join and enjoy interacting with other members.
Congrats on your PU..

Nicely done! Much stronger than mine was this round! I remember being stuck at 69 forever and a day, and then suddenly I was 70! Just recently hit 71 which was really nice. 80 sure looks a long way off though...

It's great to see progress on Hive, I've become a lot more consistent with posting lately which has made a big difference. The problem is finding the time and interesting subject matter to keep producing. When you're a father it eats up a lot of your free time, now that I'm an empty nester and single I more free time to do what I want to. The funny thing is now I feel busier than ever!

I hope you have a productive weekend at at least get a line in the water!

Yes 69 did take forever and a day. I here you on the father part, hehe. I too look to be more productive here but just having setbacks that prevent it. We can't multi task everything so I often come in spurts when it's possible. Yeah it's freaking hot and it wasted no time getting there this morning either.

Congratulations, you are doing great here Bob!

Btw I am interested in asking questions about every state in America because I'm dreaming of working there someday as a teacher. Not now, takes time, but I'm interested to teach in America's countryside. 🇺🇲

Thanks Sydney 😊

Willing to answer those questions especially those States I have visited. We can call it knowing 50 states in 50 days, hehe..

Hoping this dream comes true for you. The thought of working abroad sounds exciting. Take care and have great week ahead 😁

I am very fascinated with the American culture. I love the countryside, I want to work someday in Oregon, Arizona, West Virginia. And also I want to visit the Appalachian mountains. 😂

This video is my inspiration. 🇺🇲❤️

Great places to visit. Been to Arizona beautiful landmark and formations there. The Grand Canyon is an absolute must visit. Seen a few times 😁 I know someone here (Hive) from the Philippines who's niece is going there teach, might be there already. Seen the Appalachian mountains for the first time in Kentucky. West Virginia is a great state as well I have some cousins that live there. I haven't been to Oregon but I know it offers many wonders of nature.

Got to get ready for work I'll have to check out the clip a bit later 😁

It definitely can portray many things and has its own lure to it. Oh the big foot sightings as well but that is every mountainous area here. I still yet to see one 🙈 😂

Haha once I'll get to America I'll search for a big foot and I'll tell you once I'm there so I won't be lost 😂

Haha the truth is there are some people who actually search for them.

Oh btw I checked out Tik Tok clip. Have experienced all those things. Especially the Bison 🦬 have seen them on numerous occasions. There is a farm nearby and a park that has them close by. A few posts back I visited Botna Bend Park and shared some Bison photos 🦬 📸

Oh, I thought it's buffalo. I am really romanticising the American countryside and it's because of the movies I am watching. 😂

I also watch countless American horror movies set in a countryside especially the Watcher movie taken place in Oregon, it scares me especially the introduction "In America, there are countless abduction and murder everyday reported unknown."

But that won't scare me away, I am eager to see America after all. 😂 Especially country roads west Virginia 🎶

Buffalo, Bison there really interchangeable. I don't even know what makes one or the other 😂

Haha your really getting your fix of outside influence. The intro to the movie is a bit of a stretch, if you stay away from bad areas things not likely to happen. I don't see Oregon as one of the dangerous places, hehe.

I tell you here in the U.S. going from East Coast to the West Coast or North to South it's like visiting many different countries.

Haha good tune I'll have to search and listen been a bit since I heard that song.

I suddenly remember the iconic song, "I'm just a Buffalo Soldier, In the heart of America" 🎶😂 I always hear it in the radio when I was young though.

Yeah, I physically live in Philippines but my mind is somewhere in America and I'm starting to know more how life feels in America. 😂🇺🇲

You are on a craze but it's fun to play with it. Maybe we can do a country swap, hehe. I'll just say there is so much to see here and we have basically every climate depending on where your at.

Well I've always wanted to visit there. More so since I started blogging because of all the places I have seen and the friendly welcomes I received from you people 😁

Haha there are decent size Latino populations and communities in every decent size city in the U.S. Not hard to find Sydney they often all live in the same area.

Yes definitely strong love for the Philippines ❤️ It's all part of a dream whether it happens is all in God's hands 🙏

There markets are like Chinatowns in large cities. Completely filled with Hispanics from Mexico. So much culture in those areas too and they are proud of their heritage. Have one very near me and it feels like you are indeed in a happy place in Mexico 😁 Just imagine their art, music, food cuisines, shops, of course their eyes and them speaking their native tongues 😂 All those things and more are present there.

Oh, I'm afraid that once I'm in US you're already in Philippines 😂

I wonder if you don't like or you weren't happy in America anymore but I wish you'll be in Philippines sooner!

Haha the eyes and the native language, I like that. Actually they're quite like us Filipinos, the way they socialise is very similar to us. It's not difficult 🤣🤣

Oh no I'm a proud American. Just dream of retiring there. The dollar stretches more there where I could live more comfortable there once I receive my pensions and such. Hoping to retire in about 9 years so not too soon.

I can see some familiarities between the two. They are very family oriented like Filipinos. Some words of your language are similar to there's along with religious beliefs. Haha it's funny how we got side tracked to this discussion but I have enjoyed 😁

Oh, I see that's a nice plan. While I'm also thinking of working in America and getting a permanent citizenship if I could find someone compatible with me. We have opposite dreams bob 😂 But I still wish we will meet in actual. 😂😂

Haha ya I would like to go there as much as you want to come here. Who knows anything is possible maybe we meet one day here or there 😂 Just let me know when your coming I'll go searching for a great guy for you 😂 Maybe I can find both Mr. perfect and Mr. Compatible rolled into one just for you 😁

No, I don't think so. I know what mostly are looking for and I don't have tht 😂

But in your case, once you'll step a foot on the land of the philippines, many filipinas will come fighting for you 😂

I tell you that you have much to offer. Really you will have no problems. Maybe finding the right one but you would have many suiters.

I actually fear finding someone to trust most of all. I had an uncle who got married to a Filipina and he basically got used when she got what she wanted. A long sad story that I hope I wouldnt repeat. I know I can't buy property there so I would need to meet and get to know someone well enough before I decided to go over there for good.

I know you are quite smart bob. I really hope you won't become like them, many became homeless years after.

This post is quite very sad, there are more posts as horrible as this I want to share but I can't find it anymore. This one is recently;

Thanks for the compliment 😊

Well my uncle paid off all her debt and bought a place for her mother. She was all for coming back to the States to live with him. He came back and she was suppose to follow a month or so later. He sent money to her to purchase airline tickets and never heard from her again. If that wasn't enough he flew back there to confront her but was met by her 23 year old son who threatened his life to stay away. He was a man with a broken heart and wallet. It took a good 5 years for him to get a footings back. He even had to live with one of his kids temporarily.

That shit rhymes 💔
"He was a man with a broken heart and wallet"

I think that's the saddest human experience..we can't trust anyone in this world. We are living a selfish planet after all and everybody is only after their own survival. That must be a well-learned lesson for you.
