It Looks Like a Brown Christmas Ahead
Hello friends and Hivers. Hope all of you are enjoying the last few days before Christmas. What a last 24 hours I have had. I went to bed late last night and got up some what early today.
Well not going to flex at all on my work day on Tuesday. It was slow, not much to mention. I did take a beautiful shot of the morning sunrise. This was taken on base as I was driving to my work place. Doesn't it look amazing?
Well some of you know I sent my son off on Monday to Kansas City for a basketball show case. I did receive some pictures from other parents and the coach on some of the activities they did there. Here they are and again they are not my photos.
Here the team is at Top Golf. It's a driving range where they serve restaurant style food right where you hit the balls. Pretty cool set up and I've been to the one they have here in Omaha. No one heard the call, "Ford", as they were eating. The phrase is popular when someone slices the ball and it heads in a direction towards someone. If you hear, cover up so it doesn't hit you on your noggin, hehe. It derives from President Ford's golfing days. He once said, "I know I'm getting better at golf because I'm hitting fewer spectators."
Again some pictures from the coach and parents that made the trip. Here they are all enjoying a Christmas team party at the hotel they are staying at. Some boys wore rain deer antlers while the others had Christmas lights, haha. They had a different fun way of gifting gifts. They played games and the order of finishing the game determined who got to choose what gift but it was still a mystery because they were wrapped or bagged. My son got a $20 gift certificate to Subway. His gift to someone else was a $20 gift certificate to Buffalo Wild Wings. Even though I wasn't there it was comforting the boy is having a good time.
Tuesday night they had a game at 6:15 p.m. I bought a live feed of the game for $10. I saw the start of the game for few minutes than saw my son play in the third quarter. It was not that I didn't want to watch the game. The live feed kept buffering and blacking out. I'll keep to myself the few words I used when this was happening. Long story short, I got on the online chat function and ended up getting a full refund.
Most of my night and some of the next morning involved me trying to watch the replay of the game. What a chore that was the same thing was happening. I basically got to watch in 5 minute increments. I'll just say I have streamed a lot and never have encountered these issues. Most of the time for free so paying for one increased my level of frustration. The good part, the team won 63-31 and my son did spectacular scoring 22 points 😊
My morning was ok after I gave up on the live feed replay. So my boss gave us the option of teleworking two of the remaining three days for the remainder of the week. I decided to take today and tomorrow on that. Tonight I have to pick up my son from school late so that will allow me a little more rest since I don't have to drive and do my regular getting ready for work.
Picture above is my sweet breakfast I had this morning. It's some scrambled eggs with cheese, mushrooms and some toast to go with it. Also had some pancakes with whip cream on top with chocolate and carmel drizzled over the top. It hit the spot and glad I didn't mess it up because I had a brain fog this morning. I did tell someone this morning to have a good weekend, haha. Not going to lie I may have did that twice.
I decided to have a lazy lunch or snack, haha. Just some crackers, cheese and summer sausage. I just love this cheese slicer. It's so easy to use and is much more safe than using a knife. Do any of you have something similar?
Even though it was more of a snack than a lunch I couldn't finish it all. I guess my eyes were bigger than my tummy, hehe. In the second photo it is wrapped up with an individual little baggie thingy. For reference I placed one near the top of the plate. It expands to a good size bag with elastic all around the open side. I find it super useful and they don't take up much space.
Well onto the article topic, haha. Most years we have a white Christmas, this year will not be one of them. Last year at this time we had artic temperatures in the Midwestern part of the United States. It was 40 below fahrenheit considering the wind. So why not have the exact opposite this year, right.
Heck this time of year with it being this warm I ponder wearing shorts and sweatshirts. Actually a lot are doing just that. When I go to gym I do that, it's only a minute or two walk from my work place. Kids are out on Christmas break and some are shooting hoops in their driveway. I tell you, this is not common for here.
I don't think long wondering which is better. I would rather have it be 20 degrees over freezing than 70 degrees under freezing. I can handle the cold well but not when it was as cold as it was last year. If I had the choice what weather would I like it to be right now?
I wish it was just below freezing. Probably about 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-7 Celsius) with snow on the ground with it snowing. The kids would be dressed warm building Snowmen, building snow forts and having snowball fights. I don't know about you, but here that is the outdoor Christmas feel. I think it would be more exciting to look out the window and see winter activities.
With the warmers temperatures it will allow to do different things this Christmas season for me. There are still some leaves on the yard I could gather up. Also after a big festive meal I can go for a walk and not have to be bundled up.
I guess no matter the temperature Christmas is still in the air whether if it's cold or warm air. Some of the same things will still happen. Praise to the the Lord Jesus will still happen for Christians. Families will still gather for breakfast, lunch or dinners. Kids will be up early to see what Santa Claus has left for them. Lastly, love, generosity, and thankfulness will be in the hearts of many.
What is the weather going to be like in your area for the holidays? Is it what you want it to be? One thing is for sure the great big holiday will go on regardless with what the weather is doing outside.
This is all I have for you today. Take care, be safe, and may you all do your thing this holiday season. Until next time!
Keep warm.. I always feel cold here each day.. Need more thicker clothes 🥲..
Are you sure your eyes are bigger than your tummy? Haha.. If I were there, I'll finish those biscuits haha
Oh ya I'm warm actually thinking of digging out some lighter clothes. The moment I do that I'll be wishing I didn't, haha. Usually I would have finished it off, I guess just teleworking on the couch with the laptop I didn't work hard enough to work up an appetite. Hurry up and get here you can have the rest 😂 🤣 😂
The sky looks so beautiful. Those food are all snacks for me. Hahah! It's my first time to hear of brown christmas. The notion is always a white christmas on the western side of the word. Weather is better on our side of the world too. The wind is cooler these days and there aren't much rain than before. And praying no strong tyohoons to come.
The saying here is brown Christmas since there is no snow. I guess it's only used in areas that have snow during this time and have none. If there was snow we would say white Christmas.
Yes no typhoons, floods, or earth quakes!!
Good that your son's team won the basketball game but too bad you couldn't watch it live because of connection problems.
Around here we have a tropical climate, but the temperature usually cools down quite a bit at this time of the year. However this year the weather as in the rest of the world is a bit crazy and it is still hot these days.
Yeah the live feed was aggravating but I good updates today via text. They won again and my son turned in another 20 point performance which I'm so proud of him for that.
I agree crazy weather everywhere. Here cold, warm, cold and back to warm. It really messes with the body.
Here it's always hot. Same like my head, always burning🫤, but no matter the season is, I still feel the spirit of Christmas.🥰
💯 Exactly it's the spirit not so much the appearance. Thanks for stopping by. May you and your family have a great rest of the holiday season 🎄 🎁
Thank you♥️ same to you..
The boys looks really happy, they are all smiling. And it is a good thing that you got a full refund uwu. Ans your snacks combination looks unique? I mean, I never really had that kind of pair of foods, like with crackers and not a bun or any kind of soft bread? Or its just the thing in there no?
Ya refund or I still would be throwing things 😂 Son is back now felt like a long three days.
Oh ya it's a thing here. Kind of a holiday snack. Actually it's a popular gift this time of year. Different kinds of cheeses and sausages come in decorative packages to be gifted. Everyone eats them with crackers here. Either one cracker with the everything on top or a cracker sandwich, hehe. I do a little of both 😊
I really wish it rains too but damn, this December right now is hovering around 30C over here. Anyway, Merry early Xmas 😊
That's warm I won't see those temperatures until May here. Crazy weather all around the globe. Advance Merry Christmas to you as well !HUG

Indeed! usually over here it's around 22-28 but these days it's getting warmer and oddly way too sunny for a December.
I wonder if the extreme cold 🥶 will come from no where like the warmth did. Id rather have normal temperatures than the see saw extremes, hehe.
Here feels cold. Rainy all day long 🥲
We had rainy weather all day Friday but just above freezing so no snow 😢 I'm wish for snow but probably not as much as someone who hasn't seen it for real. Well hope you get your perfect weather friend whatever that is ☺️
Oh it's time to have fun, enjoy and eat pancakes and more! jajaaj
But I see the forecast there, omg so different from here 😅 Keep warm and have a white Christmas!

It's a lot warmer at many spots across the world. It was the opposite last year at this time. Literally speaking no white Christmas aty locale because no snow, 😂 !HUG

The sky was beautiful that morning 🤩 The boys seem to have lots of fun and I can totally relate to broken signal issues. Today especially it’s driving me insane, trying to add pictures or do anything online.
Your sweet breakfast is mouth watering, although totally not allowed for me 🙈
Here too, not a white Christmas this year. Oh well, I did try! 😂

Life always has a way of surprising is, hey? 😂
Yup sure does 😊 what's driving me crazy now is can't get to any of my notifications on ecency. Have to use PeakD to catch replies, can't check out my favorite articles :(
Ahh, so it’s not just me having these issues! Must be something with Ecency nodes then. I’ve been experiencing delays all day today. We both learned to rely on our Ecency app too much Bob 😂 Hoping to see more Hive frontends creating app like this, so there is always a backup plan!
!PIZZA
For sure...I'm just not use to reading on PeakD. I love it for writing though :) Got a few replies from you that I'm sure I missed because they don't highlight here that I know of. Well I'm sure Ecency will be fixed soon.
Yeah, only this week it dawned on me that maybe the reason I don’t see the posts of some of my favourite authors on my feed is because I only see those posting using Ecency? Not sure if that’s right, but I always see the same group of people and not the others 🤷🏻♀️
$PIZZA slices delivered:

It seems that your son together with his team having a good time 🤗
Oh yes they had a good time. They also won their second game 😊
🤐
Yessss, They won and your son is a star! Congrats
From the pictures we can tell he's having a great time there. Everyone deserves it.
It looks like the snowman with the corn nose won't make it... there's a cold wind here. If there you want to walk around in shorts and sweatshirt, here you would like to walk around naked with the temperature we have, which for me is cold... hahahaha...
Hey, you make me hungry.
Yes he enjoyed his few days away, for me it seemed like he was gone forever.
They always say when it's cold you can keep on adding layers of clothes. When it's hot it ends when you wear your skin 🤣😂 😂 I couldn't be a nudest!
Snowman will be early sometime next year. Maybe a Lunar New Year Snowman, haha. BTW now the weekend is near 😊 😂
The climate has changed and continues to change... Christmas (and summer) seems to be getting warmer each year...
Nevertheless... Merry Christmas
The weather patterns have definitely been wacky. There's a chance of a white Christmas now. We may get 4 inches Xmas day. May is big word that is dependent on a weatherman forecast. From 50 plus forecast to snow, haha
Merry Christmas to you and family 🎄🎁
