Splinterlands - Social Media Challenge - A Battle of Earth vs Water Splinters

Good day buddies and wishing Happy Friday in advance!!

I hope your day has been good and looking forward to the weekend. The week has been busy as usual for me, but I am being more active on Hive as compared to previous few weeks and I hoping to continue like this to be able to post atleast 5 to 6 blogs per week.

Coming back to this week's Social Media Challenge, I have a solid battle where I got a chance to defeat always invincible Water splinter deck with a Earth splinter deck I used as I share the details below.

I always find that Water splinter is one of the safest decks to win with so many options and also those armors to keep melee and ranged attack at bay. But Water splinter magic monsters are also equally important with the likes of Djinn Oshannus, Nerissa Tridawn, Runemancer Kye, Riverboat Captain are all awesome and help us win many battles.

Let me get to the lineup and other details.

The battle was with 48 MANA cap and I am really obsessed with Katrelba Gobson and I keep using that in many battles. So, I used that and other monsters as I share the details below.

The battle had 3 rule sets in what doesn't kill you (a enrage ability for all monsters), taking sides (no neutral monsters allowed) and Rise of the commons (no legendary and epic monsters allowed) and 48 MANA was enough to use my ever awesome Green splinter monsters as below:

Lineup:

1. Pelacor Mercenary:

My go to monster when I use Earth splinter is this Pelacor Mercenary and I use this for it's healing ability, for the retaliate option and being a flying monster, it can evade the attacks some times.

2. Fungus Flinger:

When I plan to use Katrelba Gobson, I always use this in Second position so that, when it gets removed, I will have Pelacor Mercenary and Katrelba Gobson with increased stats as this monster is with weapons training ability.

So, this only gives weapons training, but also blinds the opposite side monsters and it has affliction ability as well to stop healing from a monster it attacks.

3. Katrelba Gobson:

As I said above, this monster is one of the most used by me and whenever I use Earth splinter, more or less, this monster will be there.

The blood lust makes it look so impressive. It can remove the flying ability from a monster it attacks and it's sneak attack monster with double attack in each round!!!

What's more, it has a good speed of 5 too to top it up all.

4. Halaran Huntress:

I use this monster Halaran Huntress for it's 4 melee attack and an ability to attack from any position and that 4 melee attack cost me just 4 MANA.

It is with good speed and health and can be a dangerous customer.

5. Uloth Dhampir:

My plan was to divert the attack using Mycelic Slipspawn in the last position and that means, I need a monster with triage ability to keep recharging the health for the last monster and this is that monster with triage ability.

Besides triage, it can also stun a monster to stop it from attacking in a round and it is also with 4 ranged attack and has good health as well.

6. Mycelic Slipspawn:

Last on my lineup is the magic monster of Mycelic Slipspawn which is with a taunt ability and takes just 1 attack from monsters with 5 or more attacks in each round because of forcefield ability.

It gives 3 magic attack and slows down the monsters on other side as it reduced the speed by 1.

It's 12 health will be sometime enough to finish the battle without losing a monster and as it is paired with Uloth Dhampir, it can regain some health in each round to stay alive longer.

That was my lineup for this battle and opponent's Water splinter monsters were good enough but no magic monster in his lineup was advantageous for me and won the battle with 2 monsters alive when the battle ended.
