Splinterlands - Information About 5 New Rulesets Announced

Hi Friends,

Source

It's always fun with Splinterlands with all those different rulesets in the battles and also different abilities the monsters have and even the summoners induce on the monsters they summon.

And Splinterlands never falls back in introducing the new rule sets and abilities frequently and we have another 5 new rule sets added recently and in this blog, I am gonna focus on those 5 rule sets and what are those and how do we create tactics for the same.

So, let's go then and look at each of those new rule sets.

1. Beefcakes:

Wow, look at that rule set icon, it shows the strength and at the same time, love as well.

LOL, let's get into business, the beefcakes rule set is all about restriction on the monsters usage in the battles.

The restriction is on the MANA cost for the monsters and with this rule set, only monsters with 5 or more MANA cost only can be used in the battle.

It's not clear whether even the summoners will also be having this restriction or only monsters. We will have to see when this rule set is got in a battle to verify this.

So, if we have enough MANA cap for the battle, this will not be an issue, but if we have have limited MANA cap, then we may be forced to use limited number of monsters and may not be able to fill all the 6 slots.

Strategy:

I think if we have atleast 25 to 30 MANA cap, using One of the gladius monsters might do the trick if there is a restriction on summoners as well to be of 5 or more MANA cost

2. Deflection Field:

This looks a fairly straight forward One with self explanatory rule set of reflection shield based on the image we can see.

The reflection shield on all monsters means, blast will lose it's significance and so are the rule sets of magic reflect, thorn, return fire and we may see the battles getting into more rounds with this rule set.

Strategy: Don't worry about thorns, magic reflect and return fire and use the best monsters irrespective of getting hit back as there is reflection shield on all the monsters.

P.S: It has to be seen whether any exceptions are made on the existing rule sets or any priorities increased or decreased with regards to existing rule sets of the ones explained above.

These all being recently introduced Ones, we have to test and see to how these will behave and what exceptions are in place for these.

3. Heavy Metal

Source

Wow, this is another One which may benefit on some of the existing rulesets.

For example, Heavy Metals allows us to use monsters with armors only just to be clear.

And the point of impact on existing rule sets say, we have rule set of going the distance where, only ranged attack monsters are used, this new rule set will be beneficial to keep the health longer and if we have any dual ability monsters such as Runemancer Florre, it might be beneficial One if this monster is allowed in this rule set as it can take out the main health as well along with hitting armors.

Strategy:

I am still not very clear whether dual attack monsters are allowed in going the distance rule set and have to check it. But if it's allowed, it will be a beneficial One.

4. Might Makes Right:

Source

This Might makes the right rule set will be an interesting One as it allows the monsters with 3 or more attack (magic, range and even melee as well) and this will definitely makes the battles interesting and not sure we will have enough monsters with 3 or more attack if the MANA cap is less, will have to wait and see on this One.

Strategy:

If the MANA cap is enough, we should be able to fill all the slots and I personally feel Water splinter will be a better suited as we have some good magic and melee attack monsters with attack 3 or more.

It's also interesting to see how this goes on with monsters having demoralize, headwinds and silence as these will reduce the attack below 3, we will have to check this too.

5. Need For Speed:

Source

Need For Speed game is One of my favorites with all those awesome cars available to escape from the police and race and win.

But this need for speed in this Splinterlands game is a new rule set which only allows monsters with speed 3 or more and just like makes the right, this will also be interesting to see how it works with slow monsters as the speed will be reduced by 1 with slow ability.

Strategy: It's better to use more speed monsters to have advantage and I will have to test this to see the impact.

We have so many monsters with speed 3 or more and selecting 6 shouldn't be a problem.

The game has become more interesting with these new rule sets and it will definitely takes us some time to understand all these new rule sets and make ourselves comfortable.

Let's battle it out and check these new rules.

Thanks guys, have a great Thursday :)
