Splinterlands - Community Engagement Challenge - Battle Strategy - Benefit of Having Reflection Shield Monsters

avatar

Hello Friends,

Source

SPS has reached price of 1 cent, DEC is booming too and Splinterlands promo cards are getting sold like hotcakes and we are in bull market in terms of all Cryptos, seems to be a good One for everyone right now.

Splinterlands challenges are also booming up with returns on blogs with Hive price to improved riding on BTC price and here I am writing up this blog for this week's Community Engagement Challenge and the theme for this week is about tutorials and tips on gaming, game strategies, winning rewards and so on and me, being a manual player right now, I would like to share a strategy with you all for blast battles where 2 (or 3) monsters will be attacked in each round by every monster.

So, that brings us the monsters with reflection shield into picture to avoid Second monster getting hit and getting it's health reduced.

Reflection shield, as the name suggests, will be like a shield for any reflection attacks and blast is One such reflection.

So, with reflection shield, any monster which is having this ability, will avoid getting hit back whether it's thorns, return fire or magic reflect.

But what I am going to explain as part of battle strategy is another use of the reflection shield which is with blast attack to avoid Second monster getting hit and I am using 2 reflection shield ability monsters with front and last monster on my lineup with usage of a taunt ability monster with details as below.

Battle and Lineup:

The battle as part of my battle strategy I am going to write about is the One with link shared above and I used Life splinter with a summoner which allows use of One bloodlust monster and as always, I used Captain Katie for this battle as bloodlust monster.

The battle had 57 MANA cap and as soon as I saw that, there are stampede and unprotected rulesets along with blast, I immediately decided to use my new favorite Life Splinter monster of Drybone Barbarian for the front position with Iziar at the backend with couple of reflection shield ability monsters as I detail further below:

Lineup:

1. Drybone Barbarian:

The enrage, retaliate abilities with combination of already awesome attack of 6 with speed 4 makes Drybone Barbarian to use in the front and on top of all of these, there is also a unprotected ruleset, so, if it gets hit, Drybone Barbarian will not miss the retaliate attack back on the monster it was attacked by.

Hence my choice of front monster is, Drybone Barbarian.

2. Corsair Bosun:

The blast ruleset means, we need a monster to prevent that blast attack and Corsair Bosun will do that at the front and I have another combination of such monsters to negate the blast at the backend.

3. Captain Katie:

Since the blast is enabled for this battle, I felt it's a good opportunity to take out a monster and also increase the stats for a monster by using a bloodlust monster and who else can do that better apart from Captain Katie? isn't it?

4. Venari Crystalsmith:

We need a tank healer for any battle and it's always good to keep my Drybone Barbarian alive for longer and hence, I used this monster which can heal the tank and also can provide useful 3 ranged attack along with dispelling the additional abilities from the monster it attacks.

5. Venator Kinjo:

The plan for this battle was to take away attack from front monster and hence, I had planned to use the taunt monster Iziar in the backend and we need another reflection shield ability monster along with that and Venator Kinjo will do that duty for me.

6. Iziar:

As I explained above, the plan was always to take out attacks on Drybone Barbarian as it is such a humongous monster and can take out a monster with each attack and hence, Iziar came into picture as it is a taunt ability monster and attracts all the attack towards it.

With that lineup, I had planned to win this battle by using 2 reflection shield ability monsters to negate the blast and get only One monster attacked at a time and plan worked well and I didn't lose a single monster and won this battle comfortably and sharing few screenshots from the battle as below:

Line.jpg

If you watch this battle completely, you can see that, Drybone Barbarian accounted for 4 of the 6 monsters removed from opponent's side and even before the battle started, it got ended.

I use to see this kind of destruction when I was using Yodin Zaku as summoner and I see same kind of action with this blast battle.

I hope this was informative and provides some kind of strategy against blast ruleset battles and signifies the usage of reflection shield ability monsters.

Thanks and Have a good day :)
