My memory where did I put it
Being forgetful can be very funny; imagine dressing up and starting to look for your slippers and why the slippers are in your hand.
They say you start forgetting as you get older, and that's true; sometimes you forget when you are under duress, and at times when many things are in your mind.
So one day my mum and I were supposed to go for an evening tribute for one of my late aunty.
I went to work, thinking I would close early, so I didn't arrange anything for the event. So when I got to work, I just remembered that I didn't iron the clothes I was supposed to wear.
So I close a bit late, and I h
ave to find a way to rush home. Got to the junction, no bus. I waited about 30 minutes and finally got a cab heading close to my direction, not really my direction, cause I was tired of waiting for one that was going my way.
Got to the bus stop, only to find out that there was traffic ahead; what a day. I try to trek to a distance so I can pass the heavy traffic to where I thought the road would be free.
Thank Goodness, it was free, and I joined a bus heading straight to my direction. Got home, had my bath, and ate something; while I was on it, my mother came in and started preparing, too.
The event was scheduled for 5pm, and we both got home by 6:30 pm. After we were done and ready to go, that was where the problem started. I couldn't find my phone.
I searched everywhere, scattered bags, checked inside the kitchen, and went to the bathroom, but I couldn't find it. It then occurred to me that I could actually call my line, only to remove what is in my armpit, it's my phone.
We went to the event, but on getting to the venue, we found out that we had picked up the wrong card. My aunt happened to be a very wealthy woman, and to attend this event, we were given two different cards, and it's valid for just one person.
That's how, because of my phone, we picked up the card that was for the burial day and left the tribute night card at home. We were not allowed inside, my aunty children were not picking there calls.
Luckily for me and my mom, one of the children was just coming, and we related the situation to her. She asked the bouncer to let us in, and that's how we got inside.
Since that day, I have learned a lesson; if I have anywhere that I am going to, I prepare a day before the D-Day. I iron my clothes, bring out every document, and put them in the bag I want to carry; I bring out my shoes, in fact, everything down to my perfume, and keep them in one place.
It has really been helping me that I hardly forget things anymore.

I also usually prepare a day in advance whenever I'm going out because I've been through some complicated situations because I forgot something. It's a way to prevent it and it usually works very well.
