Moment of realization
Jerry, come here now don't make me shout.
Jerry ran off to play without listening to the mom.
What am I going to do with this boy?
Well, he will come back and meet me here, waiting for him, Mrs Smith murmured to herself.
Jimmy ran off to meet his friends so he could play football with them, but Ashley asked him. Jimmy, your mum is calling you, and you just ran off without answering her.
Jimmy replied Ashley my mom can disturb. She must be at her wit again, and I am tired.
What exactly does she want you to do? Ashley asks him.
Nothing, just house chores, and she can nag you for everything.
Jimmy said.
Have you tried doing everything without being asked to do them? Ashley asked.
Jimmy smiled I can't do that, even if I do she I'll still complain.
Ashley looked up and down; he sighted and said Jimmy, do you know that your quest is simple?
Ashley used to find his stepmom to be annoying because she constantly queries him about not doing his homework on time.

Ashley, who is fond of doing his homework in the morning before going to school, always ends up going to school late, and it doesn't sit well with his stepmom. Even if she reminds him in the evening to do his homework, he will still do it in the morning
Until he was watching a program that said an easy way to do your homework after school.
So the speaker was saying that you can finish your homework fast before you are picked up from school or before you eat dinner.
That was Ashley's ''aha moment. Immediately, Ashley tried to practice what he heard.
Next day after school, while he was waiting for the stepmom to pick him up. He starts doing his homework right there. And before she comes, he's done with his homework.
The next day morning, when the stepmom asked him if he had done his homework, he said yes.
He went to school early that day for the first time.
Jimmy asked him what of when you encounter difficult questions that you can't solve.
Ashley smiled and said, I take it home and ask my dad or stepmom to help me out before I even eat my dinner. That way, no more shouting from my stepmom about not doing my homework anymore.
Jimmy was astonished at how Ashley was able to make the stepmom stop nagging him.
But he became sad again, then said to Ashley, yours is homework, but mine is house chores. How do I go about it?
Ashley taught for a while, then answered him and said what if you do some of the chores at night and finish the remaining ones in the morning. He raised his brow, looking at Jimmy.
Jimmy, with a confused face, asked if Ashley thought that would work.
Ashley answered and said you never can tell. If you don't try, Jimmy is still not convinced; looking at Ashley, Jimmy said I would try it. I still doubt it will work.

Jimmy got home that day, lay on his bed, and was pounding over what Ashley had told him.
He waved it and slept off, only to be wakened up by his mother's angry face.
Mrs Smith spoke in an angry tone, Jimmy, you didn't do the chores again and went to bed, and you want me to let you leave right now cause you are late.
Jimmy jumped up from bed and ran into the bathroom to have his bath and get ready for school, but his mom told him that he was not going to school today until he finished his house chores. That's when Jimmy regretted not trying what Ashley told him to do.
Jimmy went to school very late that day and missed a test that was just conducted.
During the break, Ashley came to meet him and said hi, Jimmy, how did it go, and why were you late to school.
Jimmy hissed before replying to Ashley. I didn't heed your advice, and Mom was mad that I didn't do my chores, so she insisted that I must finish it before you leave for school.
Come, Jimmy; it's just a simple thing, now look at it: you have missed a test because of your stubbornness.
Fine, you don't have to rub it in; I will give it a try this night replied Jimmy.
Ashley, to Jimmy, make sure you don't fail cause you might miss more than one test. Please, clean your mouth replied Jimmy, smiling.
Jimmy got home and tried what Ashley had told me, and the next morning, his mom was full of praise for him.
Jimmy wide his eyes in surprise; that was his aha moment.
Since then, Jimmy has adopted that pattern in housekeeping, and his mom no longer scolded him for anything.
Thank you for taking the time to read.

It's nice to watch quality and educcative programmes. Am.hkad Ashley did and benefitted immensely therefrom. For Jimmy, it is also good to listen to wise counsel. Nice story too.
If only Jimmy had listened to Ashley's advice, he wouldn't have missed his test
