Always guide your emotions
Emotions are often accompanied by intense feelings, such as happiness, sadness, fear, or anger. Emotions are closely tied to an individual's values, goals, and motivations.
I remember an incident that happened when I was still an undergraduate hustling to survive, things were tough when I got admission, so to assist my parents easy the burden of paying school and other things needed in school.
I started a thrift business, I was selling fairly used bags, but it's first grade; if you are not told that it's fairly used, you won't know. I gather myself on weekends; I will carry the bags around, hawking them to different people in their shops, to my neighbors, and my family members.
So one day a lady bought about 2 fine big bags, in fact it was the most expensive of them all, everything was 12 thousand naira. She agreed with the price and she took two, she told me that she will pay in two weeks time. I agreed and let it go; I sold to my cousin's sister, two equally, she told me the next week Tuesday.
I agreed as God will have it, I made more profit than I could ever imagine on that set of bags. After two weeks, I went to meet the woman for my money, and she told me it was not yet available and that I should check with her next week. I left and went to meet my cousin with the same story.
I had to go back to school, and I took their numbers and dropped my account number so they could pay in the money as I was going to take exam and wouldn't have that chance to come and demand credit. My exams lasted for one month plus the two weeks they have been owing me, both of them didn't deem it fit to send my money. I kept calling, and they were busy my call.
After my exams, I went home straight to the woman's shop and all she could tell me is that federal government is owing equally, that statement pissed me off and I left, went home and pick a sack bag came back with my brother I started packing things from her provision shop, she was shock and paid me immediately, so it means she had the money and wasn't planning on paying till I reacted.
From there I marched to my cousin's shop to ask her for my money too, she told me she is not available, whenever I get the money I will pay you. I didn't even let her finish; I quickly picked up two of the baby's things from her shop, and immediately she rushed to hold me in a fix of anger; I pushed her, and she fell and injured herself.
I didn't even apologize; I went home straight, she and her husband came in the night and paid my money completely, and she told me that she was cutting ties with me. I didn't even fling; I told her I would love that. I didn't regret it because it wasn't the first time she was doing me and I was already tired
My only regret was pushing her; what if she had hit her head on a stone or even iron? Let us always watch our emotions, never let them control us, but let's be guided always.
