Welcome to the another round of our Weekly Spotlight, where we shine a big, bright light on the funniest submissions from the community!

This spotlight is our way of celebrating those comedy gems that made us snort, giggle, choke on our coffee, or literally LOL in public (yes, we’ve all been there). Like I said, the spotlight is to showcase the most funny post for the week, it might come from our weekly prompt, or random post in the community, so come make the most funny posts you can.

Some weeks, we might only have one spotlight post. Other weeks, we might have ten! It all depends on how funny the submissions are, not kinda funny or I smiled internally funny, but bust-a-gut, tears-down-your-face funny, Yes that kind of funny gets the spotlight.

So, if your post didn’t make it this week, don’t sweat it. Come back stronger, funnier, and even more ridiculous next time. The spotlight isn’t for everyone, it’s earned, not given. 😎

Here is the comedy kings or queens who cracked us up this week:

Dark green coloured rice

There was a time we had a farm where bitterleaf was scattered all over the farm like grass, and because it was surplus, my dad took it upon himself to gain at least one sachet of blood every day from the farm by using bitterleaf to cook every meal we ate. One day, we were to eat rice in the farm and, as usual, he was the cook. When afternoon came, which was lunch time, he came to inform us that food was ready and that we should head to the farmhouse to have our meal. We got there only to meet white rice in the pot mixed with half-washed bitterleaf cooked together... everything in the pot had turned to a dark green colour.

And that is how I ended up mixing the two together, initially I was praying for it not to be a waste but here is the twist, it wasn’t bad like I thought. In fact, it was kind of amazing because the rice stew was sweet.The first bite was apure confusion, I can't get the taste right but after the second bite I can't stop myself from eating more, it is manageable and oddly enjoyable. .
