Mundane Life | Update On My Eczema Woes, A New Drawing In Progress, And Fun Pages From My Old Sketchbook Chronicling Our Life From 10 Years Ago
❤️ Update On My Eczema ❤️
Yesterday I was posting about my eczema woes and after consulting with a skin specialist, what is the recent progress? I admit I was feeling very hopeless yesterday and was in a very bad place emotionally but after persevering and keeping my trust in God, things have turned positively this morning. See, after taking the steroid jab and popping 1 steroid pill and 2 doses of antihistamine yesterday, I didn't see a lot of progress. The skin was still intensely itching however it started to feel a lot better in the evening. The itchiness was more bearable though I still caught myself scratching my skin while sleeping last night.
The condition of my skin has improved tremendously this morning. It almost looks normal, you barely see the rash. Yup, it is armpit eczema which is a hellish place to develop a rash. The pits look a lot better now with the rashes slowly cleared. However, I'm not going to show you the pits because that would be gross 🤣 . Alright, enough about my armpits already. I just feel grateful that the medication works well and hopefully, the rashes and itchiness from hell will be gone soon 🙏
❤️ New Portrait In Progress ❤️
Just a little update on the latest artwork I'm currently working on. I'm going to make a new portrait drawing of my art muse.
I haven't been working on new portraits for the past several months because I was focusing on publishing my new coloring book and also a series of acrylic painting. Yup, I'm venturing to a new frontier which is creating artwork on canvas. But more on that in my future posts 🙏
This new portrait I'm working on will be in color pencils and it will be a tribute to Jang Hyuk who will celebrate his 47th birthday on 20 December. I made a similar tribute last year by drawing 10 pencil portraits of him. Am I obsessed with the man? Not exactly but suffice to say he holds a small special place in my heart for various reasons ❤️
❤️ Pages From My Old Sketchbook ❤️
I should make a different post for this but I figured why not put them all in one post? 😅 Anyway, I came across this sketchbook from 10 years ago when my daughter was still very young. It chronicles our daily family antics at that stage of life and you know what? These aren't top-notch art by any stretch but I'm freaking glad I made the time to record/draw them on these pages! What a wonderful treasure of memories!
Let me show you some of the pages...
An exhausted mother (me) slumping on a couch while my daughter, who was oblivious to my exhaustion sings happily next to me 🤣
Like many kids her age (she was 3 then), my daughter liked to climb on stuff including my vanity table. I didn't realize the table was missing 2 of its legs 😆
Potty training, anyone? It was a rite of passage for any new parents 😅
Temper tantrum. My daughter had a taste of boundary when I forbade her from watching a cartoon show (Barney) 3 times in one sitting.
And of course, play doh/crayons/markers fun come with their own challenges...
Anyway, the most epic doodle comes from these pages. This is highly relatable to those who hustle hard online. Personally, this was true then...and still true now...but that doesn't stop me from persevering and keep on trying 🙏
Well, I hope this has been an enjoyable post to you and thank you so much for reading till the end!
That's it for now. If you read this far, thank you. I appreciate it so much! Kindly give me a follow if you like my content. I mostly write about making art, life musing, and our mundane yet charming family life here in Klang Valley, Malaysia.
Note: All images used belong to me unless stated otherwise.
Thank you for visiting and reading my post. I hope you like it!
I currently accept pencil portrait commissions. I'll draw a pencil sketch of your close-up portrait and deliver it to you digitally (high-resolution JPG and PNG files).
I like the arts, very colorful this kind of arts looks very difficult to me. 😁
Thank you for your kind words 🙏
Hi, I have suffered from seborrheic dermatitis 2 years ago and it's almost similar to eczema where there is flakiness, itchiness, and scratching at night. Thankfully, I have never tried antibiotics and topical prescriptions. I healed mine by miracle. I only lessen my stress and heal my inner health. I also have stopped using soap in the face until now and I'm diligently using moisturizers because my skin had become dry. I want to call my healing as an answered prayer because I've gone so much breakdowns at night because I don't know how I would deal with that condition everyday. Praying has been my weapon and I can say that God is listening and if we are sincere in our prayers, he would answer it. I am praying for your healing. ❤️
Amen. I'm glad that you healed and thank you so much for your prayers 😘🙏
You're welcome. Can't wait to see your progress and ultimate healing. 🙌

I love those cute drawings. :)
Thank you! The eczema is improving a lot and I have stopped taking the steroid. I don't want to rely on it too much 😅
