You Don't Have to Be a Master Chef to Win

What have you been thinking about lately? Have you been able to bring them to pass? I believe we all have plans, but executing them is what sometimes become the issue. For most people, if they should share with you their ideas, you will realize how amazing they are and how critically they think. I have met many individuals with such good ideas, and one who really inspires me is someone special to me, Philipa.

She told me about her plans to begin a business of her own, which I thought was a good idea. It was a food business that would serve at events of all kinds of dishes. What more could a friend give than inspiration, I inspired her to believe it was a good idea. Sometimes it isn't money that people need but just a little motivation or some powerful words to spur them into action.

To be honest, I wasn't initially convinced Philipa could pull it off. When she began showing me pictures of elaborate dishes she claimed to have cooked all by herself, I was impressed by the scale, but also a bit skeptical. I hadn't actually seen her cook, and the buffets at the events she photographed (some of which I've shared in this post) seemed enormous. I began to wonder, "When did she become a secret chef?"

Today, she's got the business going and is receiving orders. But one thing is for sure that I have admired and learned about her: you never stop believing in your dreams. It's normal when those around you express concerns about your dreams because they are not the ones with the dreams and might have not seen things the way you did. You must never stop believing in yourself. Today she tells me, "Starting my business was a good idea; it's good to be here."

She can't be wrong in any way; having a business, no matter how small, and generating a little income from it, in my opinion, is better than working yourself to death 24/7 at a job that barely pays you well. It's indeed good to be where your ideas are materialized into reality and where you finally achieve what you dreamed of. It can be quite hard to start a business today and even easier to fail at a first venture.

But that shouldn't deter you from pursuing a business dream. Maybe if you face the initial struggles you will succeed and one day you will smile and say the same thing: it's good to be here. Being where you want to be isn't so easy but it's a sure path if you should persevere. As I write this, Philipa is in the UK receiving more orders. Making a difference and being where she is now was a tough journey.
