Milestone Achieved: 12th and 13th Borehole Successfully Launched

We are delighted to announce the successful launch of the 12th and 13th Hive Boreholes in Ghana. The launch event took place yesterday, and it was a remarkable occasion as it marked the first time we have simultaneously launched two boreholes. Over the past two years, the Hive Empowerment Project has played a crucial role in bringing several impactful social programs to fruition, all of which have empowered individuals, particularly those residing in underserved communities in Ghana. Yesterday, we achieved another significant milestone, as we not only launched boreholes but also conducted a community health outreach program in Asamankama town, Offinso-Kumasi, Ghana.
The Hive Boreholes project always l undergoes a three-phase process, from construction to completion. Yesterday marked the last phase, which was graced with a special celebration. This event not only gives us the opportunity to celebrate an achievement made possible by Hive but also provides a platform to share the transformative impacts of Hive, both in Ghana and other places around the world.
The launch ceremony commenced in the early hours at 10 am with an opening prayer. This was followed by an announcement of the purpose of the gathering and the introduction of several guests who had come to grace the occasion. Present were the chief and queen mother of Asamankama, representatives from the Ghana Education Service, the head teacher, teachers of the Asamankama community, and town leaders. These dignitaries were given the opportunity to deliver their addresses, all of which highlighted the importance of water and commended the efforts of Hive in Ghana.

The Hive team, consisting of project managers, event organizers, media personnel, and medical doctors, received special recognition for championing an empowerment program and selecting the Asamankama community as beneficiaries of the Hive empowerment initiative. This was a valuable opportunity for the team to share information about the Hive blockchain, its thriving ecosystem, and numerous empowerment projects that are positively impacting lives, particularly in Ghana.
After the Hive team's address, the chief and queen of Asamankama also delivered their speeches, expressing their gratitude to the Hive ecosystem for these generous gestures. They reflected on the longstanding difficulty many residents faced in accessing clean drinking water, despite several previous efforts made to address the issue in the area. The community's greatest joy stemmed from the fact that they have a new borehole system and the old borehole transformed into a mechanized one.
While acknowledging Hive's commendable efforts, they also shared about other challenges facing the community, such as the need for computers for the Asamankama community school. They kindly requested that Hive and other organizations consider providing assistance in this regard. Overall, it was a beautiful occasion with a massive turnout, including both children and adults who couldn't hide their joy regarding the new water facilities.
The event featured cultural performances, choreography, and music, all of which contributed to the enjoyable atmosphere.
The chief, queen mother, and other community leaders joined the Hive team in cutting the ribbons to officially unveil the new project. The first ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at the new facility located near the Asamankama community school, and then the community members joined the leaders to perform the next ribbon-cutting at the renovated hand pump borehole. It was a heartwarming sight to witness the residents fetching water to drink and for their daily use for the first time.
The Hive Empowers Communities project has not only focused on providing clean water but has also extended its reach to offer free medical care and educational materials to schools. Just yesterday, we conducted another health screening program following the project launch.
This initiative was carried out by optometrists and other supporting doctors from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. The medical staff provided essential services to residents, including checking blood sugar levels for diabetics, systolic/diastolic blood pulse pressure check, conducting comprehensive eye examinations, and offering guidance and counseling to community members facing health issues.
The turnout for this event was exceptionally encouraging, with both young and adult community members receiving free screenings. Free medical drugs, contact lenses were given to those who were diagnosed at no cost, while individuals with serious health issues were referred to hospitals for treatment.
This project has been one of the ways we've helped others learn about Hive. This final phase of the project has become an avenue to provide exposure for people to learn about Hive. The event featured several media platforms, including TV stations, newspapers, and online news networks, all present for coverage. News about the event will be shared across their platforms to provide more exposure to Hive.
We believe that these efforts will go a long way in providing the necessary education about Web 3 and its potential. These practical approaches will help people realize how crypto and blockchain technology can make a significant difference in their lives, and we are glad to have championed this worthwhile cause.
