Another Milestone, Another Community Empowered

Two years ago we began our empowerment journey with an aim to provide clean and safe water to other communities. Looking back today, we can say with pride that we have been successful, this week we have completed our 23rd borehole. Each borehole we build tells a story of hope. It's about how families used to walk miles for water, how children had to be out of school to fetch water, and entire communities had to battle daily with one of the basic necessities of life. Our journey has always been about working in these communities, hearing their stories of struggle, and finding a way to change that story.

On Tuesday we launched the 23rd borehole in Wurapong. For about now weeks, we have been providing updates about the project, so it was wonderful to be able to finally confirm that the project was completed. Everything worked to plan, and on handing over to the community there was so much joy. This was not just another borehole; it was the making of another project that transforms lives; a moment that showcased just how much can be achieved when working together, with purpose.

These moments remind us now, more than ever, why empowerment is important. What was once buried beneath the earth - clean, fresh water - is now flowing freely for the good people of Wurapong. Technology played its part, but much more, the spirit of empowerment made this possible. When we say that Hive is changing lives, we have a reference point with this borehole, It will be a facility that we will always show as an example of genuine transformation.

The beautiful scenes captured in the photos is one of the things that inspires to continue with this empowerment is initiative, to extend the impact, reaching more people and demonstrate how lives can be changed eith the power of Hive. Now, with Wurapong added to the Hive Mepiwers Communities list, we have another great example of how Hive can reach even the remotest communities.

The people of Wurapong had dealt with water issues for many years. They had an experience in the past with some stakeholders who had promised to be of help but none had provided the lasting solution they needed. Now, with a mechanized borehole, it has changed their story. The borehole can service almost the entire community, and it really is a watershed moment in their lives.

We celebrated with them, as they enjoyed the news borehole and they shared with us the hope which Hive has brought to their homes. In the coming days we will be sharing more of their success stories and show how this moment was captured in the local news platforms in Ghana.

We are very grateful for our team and representatives who helped us in executing this project, to ensure every step was done well. We also thank everyone in the Hive community for your support to allow this dream become a reality. This has been more than a project. It has been a journey of genuine change through community support.

The feeling I get when I see these smiles on the faces of the people never gets old. It’s truly amazing to see hope restored into the lives of people through water.

Bringing water to places like these means a lot. Those living there have their hope restored.
