I am all about physical books as well. I just don't process audio or electronic books the same as physical. I enjoy military history too. Especially personal accounts of experiences. Being able to go back and read something again is very important to me. I have to do this often as my brain wonders at times.

Personal experiences are good indeed, one thing is just read about a battle, an other is "live" it with a person prospective... Like books from survivors of concentration camps
