Time to Change Health Insurer
Recently Bajaj Allianz & Care Health has updated their hospital exclusion list which I have written about in 2 days back. Now it's actually a bad situation to be in. I also have a Health insurance from Care and I am paying a good amount of money for the health insurance premium. But this hospital exclusion is actually a problem for every insurer. The thing these insurance companies always try to extract money from the consumer as well as not try to give money to the hospital.

And that's the reason these hospital don't admit you for cashless treatment. I feel people usually take the health insurance for the cashless treatment itself because you don't have to pay from your pocket and these health insurance takes care of it. You have to pay some amount which is not covered under the insurance but still its quite less. When my daughter was born, the total hospital expense was Rs 1 Lakh and I have to just pay Rs 10K which was only 10%.
Now if the cashless treatment wouldn't have been there, people have to pay Rs 1 Lakh from their pocket as well as we have to run after the insurance companies to get that 1 Lkah and most of the time they try to ask a lot of documents which is troublesome. So to remove that worry, people usually want to go with the cashless treatment. The more hospital offering the cashless treatment the better and that's why having more inclusive hospital is a requirement.
But when the Bajaj Allianz and Care Health Insurance has excluded a lot of hospital, I am thinking of of changing the health insurer. I know changing is not a good idea but still got me having more hospital list is better than removing some of the benefits as well as taking the new one.
But the question is what will happen if the other insurance will also fo the same. There is no guarantee right, and that's why U am thinking of going with HDFC ERGO which is expensive but covers the maximum hospital list and thus they removing the hospital is highly unlikely as their track record is quite good.
