Going Out of Budget While Travelling

Who doesn't like to travel, if you ask 99% people will say that they will travel the world if they have unlimited money. And to be honest travelling helps you to live your life fully. Like travelling can be a stress buster or travelling can help you to regenerate or re-energize yourself.

But the problem lot of traveller's face is going out of budget while travelling. For example when I visited Munnar 2 months back I though I will complete the trip in some amount but the problem is when you go to some places you try to explore all the things and thus your budget goes up. That happens with us too, and our budget went yo 1.5X. Now in some sense it is good that we have visited all the places and explored it but in other sense since the budget went up we cannot buy some other things in the following month as the cash crunch.

I think I usually do the budget and try to find out the amount which is needed and also kept some buffer but sometimes all the planning does not go as planned and you usually have to shed some extra money. I remember one instance where our bus broke down before starting the journey and we have to buy another bus ticket which was 2x the previous amount. This was not in our control but still we went above our budget.

So it is so much necessary to keep yourself in budget while tracelling. Because that can affect your later months if you are living paycheck to paycheck. For us what we usually do is we allocate some amount everymonth to the vacation budget and thus we spend from that. We take those many vacations in a year, which is allowed from that allocated money. If we have gone above the budget, we reduce the number of vacations. In that way even if we go above the budget, we know we can compensate the following vacation by taking a small vacation or not taking at all.
