Financial Goals 2023 - Where i Stand

So today is the last day of 2023 and time to review the financial goals of 2023 as a whole and see where I stand on achieving the goals, through this post I have to reflect on what I have done good and what can be improved in the next year i.e. 2024.

I created the Financial Goals 2023 Initiative - Plans at the start of the year and thus this post is all about reviewing those plans or goals.

Now the thing with Financial goals or planning is that it should not be constant and should be evolving just like you are evolving or getting better every day, the same thing should happen with your goals too and thus we have to review that every month to see if any review is required or are in the .right track. So same thing I have done is to create goals of the whole year and every month do a self-review to see where I stand and thus what change is needed to do in order to achieve the goals I had set for myself.

The Goals of 2023 which I have created are as follows:

Be more active on Hive

I think it was 70% completed as I was mostly active in writing posts whereas I lacked writing many comments. Yeah there are days where I cannot write because of certain commitments but I have to be more active in writing comments.

Have 22.5K Hive Power

I have to buy some Hive from the market to fulfill this goal. But yeah as of today 31st December 2023, I have 22.5K HP as my Hive Power. At the start of the year I had 17K HP in my account and today 22.5K which is somewhat good in terms of growth.

Have 1500 HBD savings

I wanted to have 1500 HBD in my savings account at the start of the year. But I needed the funds and thus had to cash out some money and could not complete this goal. I even tried to reduce it to get 500 HBD but could not get it.

Have 15000 LEO

At the start of the year I have created a goal of having 15K LEO in my account, but this also could not be completed and I have only 10.7K LEO in my account. Might be I have over estimated and thought I could get this much LEO. The price of the LEO is also played a role in not getting the goal. At the start of the year the price of the LEO was less and I was getting more LEO for the HIVE I have delegated, but as the year passed by the price of the LEO went up and buying from the market also became impossible for me.

Have 5000 STEM

At the start of the year I thought that STEM would be great for my portfolio but as the year progresses I diverted my attention to other coins and thus I could not complete this goal and hopefully I will not keep this in my list for the next year.

Have 100 BRO

I have created the goal of having 100 BRO in my account but as of today I have only 81.7 BRO, so again it is not completed.

Have 5000 STEM

I was not that active in STEM and thus could not complete this goal at all.

Have 5000 SPS

I have completed this goal and exceeded it and as of today I have 7.2K SPS staked. I wanted to get up to 7.5K SPS but could not do it organically but happy that I have achieved this goal.

Increase my Mutual Fund and Stocks Portfolio by 20%

Getting returns is one thing and doing investment from pocket is another. I do not want my portfolio just to increase by returns I am getting, I want to create a long-term portfolio and thus wanted to increase my portfolio by 20%. And I am happy to share that I have achieved that and increased the portfolio by 25%.

I have also started the ETF startegy from middle of the year and it is also going good and till now generated good returns mainly because of the Bull market, you can read it here about my last report on the strategy.

Overall it was a good year and able to invest more. I lost some money too, but that is the learning you will have to learn as you grow older. Hopefully 2024 will be even more better year for all of us.
