Credit Limit Increase

One of the good think happened today is that the Credit Limit of HDFC Diners Club Privilage has increased by over 50K. I know 50K increase is not much but whatever I am getting is actually better to move towards my goal. I have HDFC Diners Club privilage card which is semi premium Card and the best part is that it is life time free card.

The base rate is 1.33%, that means for every 150 Rs I spent using the card, I will get 1.33% back. To be honest this is not that great card reward wise but still it serves the purpose. I wanted to have the Diners Club Black card which is a very good card and a premium card. Though it's not a lifetime free card but the rewards are quite good. Now to have that I have to have a very good salary or I have to have a good credit limit.

And that's why I am thinking of taking my credit limit to that point where I can get the Diners Club Black card, since salary wise it would take a lot of time. And that's why any credit limit increase I get, I take that.

Next is I also got a card upgrade from Diners Club Privilage to Marriot Bonvoy. Which is again a good card and semi premium. It is best for people who want to spend their vacation in Marriot Hotels. I am not upgrading it because first of all I will be tied down to one platform for redeeming and the second is that it is not a core card. So if I take it, getting the Diners Black would be hard. So that's why I will keep my current card and thus try to increase the credit limit slowly and steadily.

I get credit limit increase for other cards too, but I don't increase it but for HDFC Diners Club Privilage, I increase it as soon as I get credit limit increase.
