Courier Scam on the Rise

The scammers are finding new ways to scam people. And with the technology advancement the scams are rapidly increasing. One of the scams which is prevalent is the courier scam. A lot of people fell into this scam and they have lost hard earned money.

The scam is, a person will video call and the office looks like a government office. He will mentioned that a FedEx courier on your name has been confisticated which have the passport, drugs, etc. Then he will transfer the call to someone who looks like a police officer and thus, this is the way to scam the people. They will ask you to come to a location, when you say you can't then they will try to pressurize you by saying they will put you in Jail.

You have to reach there by some time if not, then they will file an FIR. And after requesting, they will ask you to pay the money and thus you fell for the trap. Now first of all, we have to be really cautious with these kinds of scam calls.

For example, we should never answer an unknown video call. If there is any such courier, it should go via proper process and no one can file a case over you for the courier. If there is any case, you can get squash by legel means. But by paying money to scam is not the way to go. Next is to ask proper question if you pick up the phone, like the courier number to track with the name etc. This way the scammers might be surprised and can give false values.

And lastly no one can ask you to reach a place in some time, everyone has yhe right to get the tike required to appear before anyone especially in India. So don't panic, these scammers are actually take advantage of the panic of the people.
