When Temptation Becomes A Force Of Justice

Sometimes I just sit back and wonder, why does vegetarianism as an ideology even exist? Why would anyone willing give up the fulfillment that comes with meat consumption?. This is one thing I doubt I'll ever understand even when practitioners of this belief put in every effort to support it.

Some say they cannot eat meat because it is sourced from living beings and for that reason they can't subject themselves to that act because according to them it is the highest firm of animal cruelty. How does this even make any sense? Unless eating meat has some sort of negative effect on your body (health-wise) then I see no reason why meat should be a taboo to anyone but in the end everybody is still entitled to make whatever decision they choose even if it seems irrational.

There are just some things that are heartbreaking to hear especially if they'll have a life long impact on your existence and for someone who views meat as a primary necessity to life, being told that I have been banned from ever having another bite of meat might just be the very thing that reduces my lifespan. Living a life where I can never enjoy the juicy taste of a roasted turkey, no chicken pepper soup and no goat stew to raise my spirit on bad days.

The crazy part about this ban is that in the entire world I am the only person suffering from this affliction meaning that I can still inhale the aroma of different varieties of meat whenever it is being made and that is as far as I get. I wonder what kind of offense I might have committed to be given such a punishment. This is even worse than a punishment because experiencing life without the comforting presence of meat is like forcing me to roam Hell on earth.

I am not a vegetarian and will never be a member of that faction so forcing me to involuntarily become one is a deprivation of my fundamental human right to eat meat. How will I even contribute to the great circle of life that Mufasa from The Lion King spoke about? This even feels like an aberration to the true purpose of Mother Nature.

I can already see myself attending a family gathering where everybody is munching down huge pieces of meat, chewing, biting and devouring while I'll be the only person with a spoon in hand eating a plate of rice without any obstacle, not because I don't like meat but because a powerful force has coerced vegetarianism on me against my will. This most definitely is a battle to eradicate my identity because if I am not Emmanuel that loves and eats meat, then I don't think I know who I am anymore.

Since the ban is now my new reality, becoming a rebel is the only solution to this obvious problem. I know for certain I won't even feel any sense of guilt when I sneak out of public sight just to get a fix. There are certain nutrients necessary for living a great life that can only be found in meat. I read a breaking news about a lady who died prematurely because she chose to eat only fruits.

Surviving without meat is not totally impossible but the real problem is I won't be able to live my life the way I want without meat in it, even sneaking off to violate the ban makes me a free man imprisoned by a forced belief and this is not a life worth living. Bottom line is I am a meat person so I am always going to fight back even if the chances of winning are very slim.
