Hello again, greetings and welcome to the 193rd edition of Afritunes. My name is @coderaikiri and this is my entry for this week. I will be performing an acapella cover to the song Ojuju by renowned Afrobeats hero - Oxlade.

I have been saying this for years but it seems u have not been screaming it loud enough: OXLADE IS A MELODIC GENIUS. In the entirety of Nigeria very few people can hold a candle to this guy when it comes to vocal capabilities and this was something he displayed effortlessly in this song.

The term Ojuju is usually used to refer to "black Magic" and the artist clearly states that he is intensively scared of its influence. The song talks about the sacrifice and dangers that come with being in a toxic relationship. There are just certain relationships that you find yourself in that scars you for a very long time to the point that you can't even get into a new one because of the trauma from previous encounters. Oxlade expresses his pains, his fears, his struggles and yet still wants to give it a try even when there are signs of Ojuju there as well.
