A world without Deku
Hello anime lovers, welcome to my blog once again. Today I'll be discussing a very interesting topic so just sit back and enjoy the ride.
The series My Hero Academia depicts a clear example of what the world looks like if people are gifted with super powers (quirk) from birth. Some humans will definitely go crazy with power using their abilities for personal gain without regard for what happens to others. This situation gave rise to citizens who see it necessary to protect society from these threats and are deemed heroes. In the anime, these heroes are under control from the government, getting paid for their services while also receiving public admiration.
The most prominent hero happened to be All might who holds the position of the number 1 hero and the symbol of peace globally. His quirk was called one for all which gave him enough strength to defeat villains with just his fists, reduce crime rates drastically and protect the entirety of Japan.
However after years of fighting, he sustains a life threatening injury which forces him to pass down his quirk to someone younger, His successor Izuku Midoriya.
Izuku Midoriya is a teenage boy who always idolized All might with the dream of becoming a hero himself until he realizes the dream was going to stay that way as he was born quirk-less. After an encounter with All might, he is chosen to inherit his powers and carry on the legacy as a hero. Now Izuku makes a very good hero with enough bravery and wit to match even that of his predecessor.
He also has a very good heart believing that everyone could be saved even the villains which made his character quite enjoyable. The shortcomings of him receiving All For one quirk-less turned out to be a blessing in the disguise as it made him eligible to inherit the abilities of other past users as well. It is very clear that the young man is a perfect fit for the quirk All. However after rewatching the series over again, questions like "What if All for one was passed down to someone else?", what if All might picked the first option he had? and many more kept ringing in my head.
Before All Might transferred his quirk to Izuku, his first choice was Mirio Togata who was specifically chosen by his previous sidekick Sir Night eye to become his successor. Mirio is a third year student in the hero course at U.A high ( a school to train heroes). His quirk is called permeatation which gives him the ability to phase through literally anything and erupt anywhere he wants going by the hero name Lemillion as his goal as a hero is to save a million lives.
In terms of character Mirio is quite the jester but he possesses the same will to protect the weak and is often regarded as the strongest student in the entire school. Personally I believe Lemillion should have received All for One as his quirk alone makes him untouchable and combined with the abilities from all for one, would make him evil's worse nightmare. I know if he inherited the power, the quirks from the previous users would never manifest. Notwithstanding permeatation makes up for everything he might be lacking. Even in the final war arc, One for all ( the big bad) stated during their confrontation that he does not like fighting a power he cannot predict meaning Mirio would have been a much bigger threat than Izuku if he had All for one. The villains might find some kind of loophole to subdue Mirio's efficiency but I doubt it will last as All for one also comes with speed. When these three ( speed, super strength and permeatation )are combined in one person what do you get in return?? A hero who can get the job done with minimal damage.
Well I cannot undermine the intellectual prowess of the author with my ideas as he knows what's best for his work and how to handle the characters. But still it is quite cool to make suggestions about the series filled with imaginations of a different timeline where One for all was All for Mirio.
Thank you
