Si pudieras tener una segunda oportunidad en algo, ¿qué sería?

If you could have a second chance at something, what would it be?

Considero que cada día es una nueva oportunidad para realizar las cosas que van quedando pendiente, aún así hay cosas que me hubiesen gustado hacerlas de otra manera en mis años de adolescencia y de adultez, una de las cosas sería vivir cada etapa en su momento, leyendo a @cautiva-30 donde dice que se está dando un tiempo con una relación de amistad a distancia, ya que no se lo quiere tomar a la ligera, de manera acelerada, para evitar cualquier contratiempo, sentí que eso me faltó a mi, ya que no me enfoque en mis estudios, como comenta en su publicación @irenenavarroart y @nainaztengra dejé que otras cosas captarán mi atención, me desvíe del camino y salí embarazada en el segundo semestre de estudio, por consiguiente abandone mi carrera para empezar a trabajar, y segui cometiendo errores tras errores, que hoy en día me pasan un poco, ya que a mis 50 años, estoy viviendo en este momento en casa de mi mamá, empezando de cero, pero más consciente de que si no avanzo, es porque yo misma estoy permitiendo el estancamiento.

I believe that each day is a new opportunity to accomplish the things that have been left undone. Even so, there are things I wish I had done differently during my teenage and adult years. One of those things would be to experience each stage of life in its own time. Reading @cautiva-30's post, where she says she's taking a break from a long-distance friendship because she doesn't want to rush things and risk any setbacks, I felt that's what I lacked. I didn't focus on my studies, as @irenenavarroart and @nainaztengra mentioned in their posts. I let other things capture my attention, I strayed from my path, and I got pregnant in my second semester. Consequently, I dropped out of my degree to start working, and I continued making mistake after mistake, which still affects me somewhat today. Now, at 50, I'm living at my mother's house, starting over, but more aware that if I'm not moving forward, it's because I'm allowing myself to stagnate.

Cuando hago referencia a vivir cada etapa en su momento, me doy cuenta de que cuando estamos estudiando, debemos enfocarnos en esta etapa, la cual podrá darnos muy buenos resultados y obtener un empleo en la edad indicada para trabajar y teniendo un buen empleo, el cual nos dará la facilidad para la adquisición de nuestros bienes, cosas que hoy en día me hubiese gustado hacerlo antes, pero no fue así, tampoco voy a enfocarme en lo que no logré, ya desperté y lo que debo hacer es perseguir los sueños que no he alcanzado, buscar estrategias para lograr nuevos objetivos alcanzable

When I refer to living each stage of life in its own time, I realize that when we are studying, we must focus on that stage, which can yield excellent results and allow us to obtain a job at the appropriate age and a good job, which will facilitate the acquisition of our belongings—things I wish I had done earlier, but it wasn't to be. Nor am I going to dwell on what I didn't achieve. I've woken up, and what I must do is pursue the dreams I haven't yet attained, seeking strategies to achieve new, achievable goals.

Para esto unas de las estrategias que haré es establecer prioridades, para así trabajar en base a ellas, ponerme metas a corto, mediano y largo plazo, y enfocarme a trabajar en pro de ellas.

One of the strategies I'll use is to establish priorities, work based on them, set short-, medium-, and long-term goals, and focus on achieving them.

¿Te sientes mayor o menor para tu edad?

Dicen por allí que uno tiene tres edades, la que dicen, la que aparenta y la que se tiene, soy la mayor de 5 hermanos por parte de mi mamá, somos tres hembras y todas las personas que no nos conocen desde nuestra niñez, creen que soy la menor de todas😅 las tres nos llamamos Gladys y cuando preguntaban por Gladys, mi mamá decías, cuál? Y le decían, la menor, inmediatamente ella me llamaba.

Do you feel older or younger than your age?

They say you have three ages: the one others say you are, the one you look, and the one you actually are. I'm the oldest of five siblings on my mom's side. We're three girls, and everyone who hasn't known us since childhood thinks I'm the youngest. 😅 All three of us are named Gladys, and when people asked for Gladys, my mom would say, "Which one?" And they'd say, "The youngest," and she'd immediately call me.

Trabajé de cajera hace unos meses, y cuando me daban el número de cedula, quedaba asombrada ya que las personas aún siendo contemporáneas conmigo, se veían de mayor edad, y muchas personas al saber mi edad no me creen ya que me calculaban mucho menos, leyendo a @irenenavarroart recordé una conversación entre mis compañeros de trabajo, comentaban que en época anteriores las mujeres después de los 40 se dejaban envejecer en casa, cuidando y atendiendo a la familia, hoy en día podemos ver señoras de la tercera edad, ejercitándose, arreglándose más, creo que el vestuario ayuda a como nos vemos.

I worked as a cashier a few months ago, and when they gave me my ID number, I was amazed because people, even those my age, looked older. Many people didn't believe me when they found out my age because they thought I was much younger. Reading @irenenavarroart reminded me of a conversation among my coworkers. They were saying that in the past, women over 40 would just stay home and age, taking care of their families. Nowadays, we see older women exercising and taking better care of their appearance. I think clothing helps how we look.
