Watery Mix Monochrome Monday

It seems like I'm saving my recent photos for the deep winter when the weather kind of sucks, and I don't have many things to take a photo of LOL

I decided to take a look back into the archives for this week... and it turns out I randomly chose three water related photos! Gotta love it haha. I guess that's not much of a shock considering how frequently I am taking and posting photos of the water environment we are visiting.. but I am getting more photos lately of plants and scenery! So I am branching out, I swear.

Having so many water photos is a lot of fun though. Water is a really important thing, if you didn't know.. so I think we should certainly appreciate it more.

Where we live it rains a decent amount, except for this summer kind of, so the rainfall we get has been doing a great job of keeping the rivers full and flowing, the lakes and reservoirs topped up. Sometimes it gets a little intense and annoying such as this past spring where it rained every freaking weekend, pain in the ass haha.

I think it's a lot of fun taking pictures of water though, especially flowing water! There are so many wonderful elements about it. I love taking some photos for sure, but it's really nice just sitting there on the rock and enjoying the water as it flows by. The sound of the river cascading down, sometimes gently, other times pretty intensely. It's always something different! As well, the splashes and moving things around is like a finger print in a lot of ways: there are no 2 alike!

I know that some people find it challenging to live where we do. It gets cold, it snows and all that but at the same time, we basically never have to worry about water. Sure there are plenty of times where we get a bit of a drought, but it's never something that turns into a desert and just decimates the whole area. There are wet years and there are dry years, but the important thing is that throughout all of that, the water is quite frequently coming on down in the mountains and gracing us downstream!

I saw a pretty interesting photo a few weeks ago with the river system of the United States and it's wild. It flows down from the various mountains like the crazy fingers of roots on a tree. It goes everywhere! That's great for us that's for sure.. because we need as much water as we can get in a lot of ways. Water is a wonderful resource that cleanses the sins of man. Sometimes in violent, destructive ways that remind us of her power, but most times, on the normal cadence that helps us remember how important it is.

I think black and white photos of flowing water are for sure my favorite. The waterfall photo in the middle is one of my highlights from this past summer! I am hoping to go back in the winter if we get a deep freeze, to snap some photos of it as well!

Yesterday, there was heavy rain in our city and the weather has changed since yesterday. A slight cold has started to set in. The cold will come in just five to ten days.
