They Are Weird

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to talk about how hearing someone talk normal life that I enjoy, was a weird feeling.

They Are Weird

Do you ever have someone in mind, and then listen to a long interview and partially dislike them after? Lol

It's been a bit since I've posted about the podcast realm.. sometimes the topic ends up being for a different community even if it started on the podcast side!

Podcasts are for sure one of my most frequently consumed media now, likely at this point surpassing TV in my life, but not quite the amount of time I spent on video games just yet.

I do like to have a pretty broad variety of people I like to listen to in terms of hosts. I've got the normal ones like Joe Rogan, Tucker, Jordan Peterson but I've also got really interesting and unique ones like Danny Jones, Theo and some others. I was listening to Theo the other day, as it was a few weeks since I partook in it, and thought that the guest was going to be great!

Joaquin Phoenix is for sure one of my favorite actors. He plays really incredible roles! He's certainly a master of the craft, and can likely go down as one of the best ACTOR actors of the last 25 years. There are some actors that just look cool on screen and get a lot of fame. Dudes like Joaquin actually do great acting, with a considerable range of skillsets the dude has.

Listening to the podcast, I will certainly finish it, but it's off to a really weird start. I am getting the feeling the guy is either incredibly shy/awkward or didn't really want to be there. At any rate though, I've certainly got a different opinion of the guy now, though it's not negative it's just odd haha.

Every now and then you listen to a podcast and realize that about the person you're listening to. There are some other people that I can't recall exactly who right now, but I like them from some other venue but when I hear them in a longer interview, likely unscripted, it's really strange. They seem like they are a way different person than I thought they would be!

I know it's hard to switch around between lives like that, with passion actors like Joaquin going the extra mile on pretty much every single role he's had from Gladiator to Walk the Line to Joker. He does his best to embody the character with every fiber of his being, and that can get pretty intense!

I'm hoping that the rest of the interview with Theo can save this dude for me in terms of my thought of him as a person, but I don't know! It's been 35 minutes and I haven't gotten any good vibes just yet lol so we will play it out.

What about you, have you listened or interacted with someone and realized that they weren't what you envisioned them to be? Let me know in the comments!

In this realm, the character that comes to mind is Peaky Blinder's Tom Shelby and real life Cillian Murphy. The dude is so different from the character he plays on Peaky Blinders that even though I've not watched the series through and through, I know I'll not be taking him seriously on the show because I can't unsee and unheard how he operates in real life.

People can switch between personalities, sometimes in a very contrasting way that makes one really reflect on how much substance first impressions hold.

Yeah I've not seen the show but certainly have heard about it! I do like cilian in his roles, so I can imagine it's different and odd to see a specific side of him!

Right, his roles tend to carry more vibrancy that how he is actually in real life.

Hmmm.. One of the person that comes to my mind is Elon Musk.. I think his personality is quite different from what one would typically expect from big company CEOs. Not that it's a good or bad thing though.
