The Trilemma
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to talk about the conflicting balances we are trying to achieve!

The Trilemma
The trilemma.. it's real!
As we get older, we tend to have a lot more stuff going on than we did before. A lot of that is great, most of it is pretty normal and we have to adapt. Sometimes though, we just want to relax and unwind but are hit with the trilemma
Time, energy and motivation!
These are all really important things to have in ample supply when we want to be doing something in the evening hours of a day. A lot of time, the evening is the only time in which we can get a little bit of time to ourselves.. and it can be a challenge to get that, but get it we must!
I've been having to battle the elements so-to-speak in that trilemma area. For sure there is a lot of other things going on, partially some of it is me enjoying playing the old Zelda game so that takes a bit of my time. I do try and need to spend time on Hive though, whether it be writing or dropping comments or replying to others. We have to fit in these various elements in order for us to be able to do what we need to to stay sane!
I think it's okay though to have these things we balance every day. As challenging as it can be sometimes to have to constantly juggle things, it's also a really big sense of purpose and enjoyment that we can get in our lives. If we all know one thing, is that there is a pretty big gap in people's sense of purpose in the world today. The cynic in me thinks that this is intentional to try and force more division and social decohesion, but that isn't the whole piece of the pie.
A sweet spot we can achieve is when we can get enough rest, get things we need to do in the morning and throughout the day and have at least an hour to ourselves in the evening to do other things that we want or need to do. That's really not bad, considering!
I know that there are likely going to be plenty of times where the plan doesn't work out, for example staying up a little later than normal in order to indulge in something a bit extra we are enjoying, or not sleeping well. I think that's where the balance and choice to not partake in something ends up being pretty important. We have to choose not to do something and instead rest more for example, so that we can get a good refresher for a few days or a week of the routine we try to accomplish in the evening.
What about you, do you think this situation is a trilemma, or do you think it is more of a dilemma, or could it be a quadrilemma?! Let me know in the comments!
