Today I wanted to appreciate some of the photos from the past few weeks of the summer!

Is it really the "dog days of Summer"? Not to me!

I'm appalled at how quickly summer flies by.. when we get older lol. I felt like it was just a week ago where we were enjoying Memorial Day, and now we are looking down the barrel of the middle of August. Damn it! Lol. Time flies, and it's annoying.

Switching it up a little bit this week.. I wanted to look back and enjoy the different things that I've done with my son over the last few weeks! I've certainly had a great summer of fun with the little man, and it shows quite well with all of the pictures I've been able to snap.

I think this was a great summer for a lot of things, one of those being fishing! We've gone on a lot of great fishing days, some of the days where I took a day or two off and we got to enjoy it all. My son learned a lot of great things, and I learned right along with him. The perks of getting older, except it also makes me sad that he's getting older and isn't as much my little man anymore lol

That's the nature of parenthood though, we all have the things that happen so quickly and before we know it, they are grown and doing things way more independently than they used to, before we can get used to the fact that they are growing up.

With fishing, the little man learned two new fishing techniques that are going to be really handy and fun for him to continue to develop and master. I love watching him, because these are the things that I would much rather reinforce than sitting on some shitty technology device and letting the world happen all around him, while he's stuck on the device.

Funny, we went to a sporting event today, that I'm writing this, and one of our friends kids was saying that they were bored and wanted his dads phone. We were at a sporting field, with lots of balls, kids around, outdoor equipment everywhere and they were trying to say they were bored. Damn, how times have changed! Thankfully the dad and I held firm and refused to let the kid have any technology, and sure enough they figured out something to do. Would you look at that!?

I'm also pretty stoked about some of the photos that I got over the summer. The beach ones are my favorite!

It's fun looking back through the months and years of posting, and collecting photos, and seeing the wild depth and variety of content that I have captured over the years. Taking photos, however amateur-ish they are, is a lot of fun!

I've said it before that one of my favorite things about the photos I take is that it for sure has a little memory tucked away in the back of my head. I didn't realize it for a while, but I am way more aware of it now, where I can look at a photo and immediately be back in the place we took it reliving it so-to-speak and it's pretty awesome. A picture is certainly worth a thousand words!
