Shades of Color
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to appreciate the upcoming seasonal changes!

Shades of Color
There's something awesome about really great weather!
This time of year, it becomes a really wonderful situation. The nights are cool, bordering on cold, the mornings are cool and the afternoons are nice and warm. It's one of the things this region of the country is famous for! That and beautiful scenery's!
Late summer early autumn is an absolutely wonderful and beautiful time of year. The weather is impeccable, as long as it doesn't rain all the time, and you get to really enjoy the variability. Sure you go out with pants on in the morning, transition to shorts and then bring a hoodie out at night. Not bad in terms of enjoyment that's for sure!
This is also the awesome time of year where there are festivals left and right. Lots of farming events where people gather to enjoy and show off the years work. With giant vegetables, ideal farm animals and others, there is so much to do! There's also the wonderful scenery.. ah certainly an enjoyable time!
I know I say it a lot.. but I love each part of the year for different reasons. I think that's one of the things a lot of people are missing. They are yearning to go to an island somewhere so that they can feel warm. So much so that they hate the cold with a passion and never learn to really appreciate where they live for what it is. I think this is a sad mentality to be in!
Finding simple things like what I just laid out above is a great way to appreciate the things around you. I don't know if it's because I've traveled a decent bit, or that I've got the right mindset to be open to things, but I am glad that I don't think I would be so offended by something as simple as cold weather. Sure if we lose power for a week and it's in the single digits, that's when things can get a little hairy.. but for the run of the mill life? You need to figure out a way to just find things to like!
With the upcoming wonderful weather, one of the other things this means is that the lakes and ponds will start to be drained. This is to prepare them for the winter for a few things. A lot of people will clean and comb the beaches so that they can get rid of the junk in it. There are a lot of debris and other shit there that we would rather not live with, so we clean it up.
Then there's the hiking! Last year we didn't get to go on many hikes. I'm really hoping to change that up this year! With the added element to bring tick spray with us. Sadly, as wonderful as this weather is, it is one of the prime seasons for getting ticks. Those pieces of shit are at the top of my list, maybe higher than mosquitoes for insects that I abhor with a passion, and would be perfectly fine seeing them completely removed from the ecosystem. They do more harm to humans than good, so fuck em!
What about you, do you have different weather patterns that you look forward to every year? What is it? Let me know in the comments!

So you can easily get ticks when you go out in for hikign in the woods?
I hope you can go hiking more this time of the year, but you need to fidn the solution for the tick first,
hahaha
Yeah, not necessarily on the trail itself but if you wander off into the leaves or brush, those pieces of shit are waiting on a leaf or a branch to latch on! Really makes me mad lol
Thankfully the tick spray we have is really effective. When we've sprayed it on, we've been in tick areas and they have not wanted to attach to us because they don't like the smell, so they won't grab your clothes.
Same here in Estonia. Nights are currently around 0 degrees C and days about 12C, will get a bit warmer shortly.
Why are ticks getting more active right now in your area? Prime time here for them is summer. Right now they get less and less active because they don't enjoy cold. If you ask from me, I would love for them to die out. They are no use to anytone. Even animals don't really eat them.
Ah I had a classmate from Estonia! Beautiful place for sure, and she was also a very beautiful girl :D
The ticks are more active right now to get the last feedings in before winter and they will die off. One of the things I like so much about winter here is it gets cold enough that those fuckers die off.
I think each weather season has its own charm of sorts that can be appreciated as it is without much regard for what temperature it comes with. I particularly appreciate the change of seasons and how it reflects in nature, leaves turning colors, the process of lakes getting frozen, everything start to come back to life around spring/summer.
Yeah! I love finding appreciation for the various aspects of life. It's what gives it spice, IMO! Always something different which is cool.
This is one of my favorite times of year, but we have a heatwave moving in this weekend. We've been having nights down in the mid 40's, but now there is going to be highs in the upper 80's. I'm kind of annoyed!
Hahaha oh man that's crazy, that means I'll get it soon after. The only thing I like about getting into the 70's during the day is that I get one more day of working out on the deck and getting some full-body sun exposure! Winter for sure I won't be doing that lol
We have really been enjoying our deck these past couple of weekends. This one it might be a bit too hot. We will have to see.
