Sandcastle Monochrome Monday
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to share a few photos from a recent beach trip that we went on!

Sandcastle Monochrome Monday
The beach is for sure one of our favorite places to be! It's got a lot of great elements to it, in that we get lots of great, clean fresh air, plenty of sunshine for that extra vitamin D boost, and there are lots of things to do when you get a little creative. It ends up being a really good day!
We haven't been to the beach as much this year given all of the things that we've got going on, but that's okay. We knew that we would find some time to do it, but what better way to spend a few hours on a weekend then at the beach? I know Galen is really excited to go to his beach in Australia and get sand up his ass crack, and there was certainly plenty of sand all over us here in the US beaches. That also means that there was a LOT of sand that came with us in the car!
I think one of my favorite things to do at the beach is build sandcastles. I've always loved it even as a kid, and I think it has a lot to do with the masculine urge to build shit, especially fortresses and stuff. There's so much to enjoy about it! The fun thing for me these days is that my son, the little man, has a really great knack for building them as well and we work together to make some pretty dope ones. This visit was for sure not going to disappoint!
I think as well one of the really cool things about sand castles and taking an interesting photo of them or two is turning the photos into black and white. The black and white element to it makes a nice bit of drama to the look of it. I think I prefer the water in the background over the people and street and shit.. but the little man built a really awesome tunnel through the catwalk haha, so that was cool!
One of the challenges with this beach trip, and probably going to remain a challenge for the rest of the year, is that we were struggling to take the photos WITHOUT people behind the castle. It's like bro, you can see people trying to take a photo get the hell out of the way hahaha. Sadly some people are just not that observant and can't be bothered to help someone out! I would have liked to take some other photos but oh well, I'm pretty happy with the ones that we got for this trip. You know that the little man and I will be building plenty more sand castles this summer!
What about you, do you like building things like sand castles when you're at the beach? Let me know in the comments!

Oops I think I am past the age where I would build sandcastles on the beach. Lol. If I were at the beach, I would just relax and enjoy the sounds of the waves crashing onto the shore. Hehe.
Wait until you have a kid then you might change your opinion! :D
I hear you though, it is indeed relaxing listening to the waves!
Hahahaha!

I'd probably give it a try if I have enough time to stay at the beach. I didn't built sandcastles when I was a child, only did occasionally visit the beach. I think my liking for the ocean come about when I got a bit older and haven't explored much of that journey yet other than catching sunrises/sunsets at the beach :)
Building sand castles is incredibly fun! I try to do some type of building whenever we go, bringing out the inner child LOL
Sunrise and sunset at the beach is truly a wonderful thing! Visiting places like islands where you can get both in one day is incredible. It is also incredibly powerful and healing to watch the sunrise and then the sunset. It restarts things in our bodies!
