Rocky Seaside Walk

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to share some pictures from a recent walk along the rocky beach I took with my son!

Rocky Seaside Walk

Rounding out the post with number two, is the last one of the rocky walk that I took with my son last week. We enjoyed quite a bit of time in the area, taking plenty of pictures! The funny thing about it as well is that I used my old phone for the pictures, as I didn't have the work one with me. I'm glad that the picture quality was pretty good, I wasn't sure how that was going to go lol.

The trail to and from the place was loaded with all kinds of thorns and stuff but there were random little gems! This little bean stalk you can see below is one of those wonders. I forget what the name of them are but my brother grew these in my parents back yard many years ago and it was such a cool thing, and very surprising because I completely forgot about these things. They might be a wild bean sprout or something, but I will have to figure out what they are through some searches. I didn't want to eat one until I was sure, but they were very edible growing in the garden!

We got to the place at the perfect time. The tide was going out and it was nice and low by the time we got there. This meant that the available beach was a lot better than it would have been if we were there an hour or two prior. I do enjoy the high tide for other reasons, but when it comes to spending time looking for things, it's nice when the tide is going out but not all the way out. You tend to find the treasures when it's on the way out!

With the tide going out, it also made for some pretty cool looking photos. I love sitting on the beach and listening to the waves coming across and smashing against the rocks. Sandy beaches are for sure great for relaxing on, but there is something completely different about waves crashing against a rocky shoreline. It adds such a unique and interesting sound! The waves coming up and rolling back against the rocks and moving the small pebbles and stuff is really cool.

Of course we were spending a bunch of time doing active things like hunting for crabs, sea glass and things of that nature. The little man was having fun showing me the beach and the things that he liked to do here such as climbing specific rocks or what tide pools he found a lot of cool things in the other times he's been here.

I think this photo below was definitely my favorite! I love the reflective nature of the water and the rocks. I think it's also funny because sometimes these pictures like this are ones that I take at a very random and quick time. Some of the photos that I spend the most time trying to frame properly and things like that are ones that turn out well but they may not be my favorite photo of the day. Some of my best photos ever were quick ones haha.

It was nice being on the beach with the little man but we were getting hot. Thankfully at the end of the trail head was a nice shaded spot under a tree with a stone bench. This was a really relaxing spot to sit with him, soak in the time together and enjoy a snack and some water while we were listening to the surf, appreciating the wind and just hanging out together. These times are so important for me because I hope that he remembers them as he gets older, and appreciates the time spent with me. I know I certainly appreciate the time I spent with my dad, but didn't necessarily at the time.

As parents we always try to be better than we were the day before. It may not always work out, but the important thing is that we try and I try for the little man.

Lol I'm not sure I see which one you're talking about, could be a few. The big one in the water kind of looks like a shark fin for a quick glance.

I love the rocky shore though, makes for great pictures!
