RE: Is DEI Working or Just A Cash Grab For the Non-Intended

This type of shit is largely just marxism run amock. Combined that with subsidies from the government, which never end well, we've got quite a bit of a perfect storm of ineptitude, corruption and just sheer stupidity.
Equity is one of the most absurd things to try and aim for because it is NEVER going to happen. Not a single scenario will play out in which it will do anything for humans except cause massive destruction and poverty. You will never have equal anything.
I am all for people of different backgrounds being able to work hard and become successful. This is what America from the 60's to the 90's was all about. There were millions of people starting businesses and thriving from all different walks of life. That's what happens when the free markets are able to run the way they need to and people can trade between themselves with ease.
Being forced to do something on some ridiculous government dictate like DEI is a guaranteed failure. Human society has never worked that way and it never will in our current iteration. It's just not in our nature.
We need to get back to a merit based society, and I think we are headed there. A merit based society allows people who work hard to have a better chance and those who are lazy will continue to be lazy and not get ahead.
This is a good point and it is something my family have always stood by and are a core example of. My wife is one of the first indigenous local government elected councillors in an area where everyone keeps calling our community racist. But it isn't the people, they know she is Indigenous, they know she is a fighter and the back her. The issues are the higher ups. The Boards, the elitists. There is merit in funding things and I have never met a person who disagreed with supporting those who need it. The issue which is loud and clear, the money isn't going where it is intended.
