Today I wanted to talk about missing LPUD and HPUD by accident, but that's perfectly fine!

It's Okay to Miss It

I recently missed HPUD and LPUD which I feel bad about, but at the same time, fuck it!

I know that the key events like HPUD and LPUD are important for many people on the chain, myself included, but there are just some things that we have to deal with and it's important not to get all obsessive over some of these things.

We recently went on a nice vacation where we took a few weeks off, traveled to a warmer part of the country and spent time relaxing and enjoying ourselves. We didn't live lavish or anything but we certainly spent time unwinding and taking care to not focus on the other stuff that we have been dealing with for a while. That also meant for me, that I would be spending a little bit less time on Hive because I too need a break from things here and there, this being one of them.

That coincided with having to miss LPUD and HPUD because of the timing of it all and it was indeed a little unfortunate to have had that happen, but at the same time we can't always be there 24/7 and do everything possible. We have to take a step back and be human every once in a while and miss out on things! It's an opportunity cost for sure!

I spent most of my free time leading up to the vacation making sure that I had sufficient posts written and scheduled so that it would take care of every day that I was on vacation, meaning I didn't need to do any formal writing. I did write one post but that was only because I hit my 1,000 Hive account creation token milsetone which was pretty sweet! I was happy for that so I decided to suffer through and write something on my phone, although it came out like shit when I read it later LOL thankfully I cleaned it up before getting that thing posted! This meant that besides doing a little engagement when I could, I was pretty much toast from doing some of the chain activities and it happened to be HPUD and LPUD that were the victims.

Granted I did power up on HPUD, just a day late but I didn't write my normal power up and sponsor post, but that's okay. I will have to just pick it up next month! The same goes for LPUD, though that one is a little stranger because I was able to do it, I just entirely forgot because I was preoccupied LOL oops.

I think the point I am getting at is one that many of us on here say: it's okay to miss or forget some things that are related to the chain! It's not the end of the world! We have to just figure out what is our higher priority and focus on that. For me, it was definitely more related to work and getting things packed, posts written and the litany of other things related to vacation that needed to be done. There will be things that get missed but at the end of the day, it's really not a big deal!

Eventually I will probably encounter the same thing with my daily posting. I will run into a situation where I have to miss it, either by accident or some other thing comes up and the 3 year streak I've got going will end. It's okay though, because it's certainly something that isn't life or death at the end of the day. There is opportunity cost there, as there is with everything, but we have to make choices as to what we think is more important. For me recently, LPUD and HPUD just weren't as important. Looking back a year, I would have thought I'd never say that while I'm active on here but it felt good to miss it by accident, which sounds weird!
