Information is Power
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to talk about how important it is to share information with people we know and we don't know, in a non-obtrusive way!
Information is Power
This past week I had a pretty interesting and fun bit of experiences in terms of information.
I'm not the most knowledgeable on all the topics that are out there but I do have my niches. In my work, I am able to take that to a really high degree which is enjoyable, but outside of that I try to do things when I can, but also not being aggressive about it.
The other day I had two such instances of this information sharing, and it made me feel pretty good! I made it a point to try and share information with people so that we can spread it but also make sure that it is in a way that is digestible for them and not that we are trying to promote a product or service, but just simply "here is what I learned, and I would love if you would do some exploration of your own and hopefully come to similar conclusions" type of thing.
I was talking to a colleague the other day about some health topics and given the opportunity, decided to broach on one that is near and dear to me and my family.
Americans are sadly being, and have been, poisoned for a really long time. One of the ways in which millions of us are poisoned is they have silver dental fillings in their mouths. Those fillings are 55% mercury! That's fucking insane, considering how we get commercials on the radio and other media ALL the time that we need to make sure to keep mercury out of the trash, among other places! That's sadly NOT the case with dentists! They still put those fucking things into peoples mouths to this day!
We ended up having a really nice 30-minute conversation, not touching on anything at all in which we were supposed to be working on haha, but it was quite enjoyable. I was able to pass along quite a bit of information we've learned and gathered over the years, pointed her to some resources that we have found and topics to look into and she gave me some information on her family and friends that were having issues but nobody could figure out what it was.
I also was looking for an alternative for frozen pretzels. I know that in other countries especially those in Europe like Germany that are really fond of their pretzels, the thought of these types of things would be offensive. Here in America though, we have these things, which is good but always not so good. In terms of what is not so good, it was how they are often loaded with some nasty chemicals!
One of the things that we've been trying to stick to in terms of diet, obviously among other things, is to try and reduce Folic Acid in our own diet, especially my sons. Folic acid is NOT a natural substance, it is a synthetic chemical and not everybody can process that garbage the way it is thought they should. There are people with genetic variations that just simply don't process it enough and it ends up reducing other B vitamins in the body with effects especially noticeable in the brain with cognition and attention. source source
Without going too deep into THAT subject, I am coming back to the need to get rid of Folic Acid from our diets. Because my son really enjoys pretzels in the morning for whatever reason, we have been looking for an alternative that is organic and doesn't contain enriched flour. Enriched flour has all kinds of nasty shit added to it because otherwise it is nutritionally horse shit. They add folic acid to the flour to try and replace the poison that they spray on the crop that just kills the nutrition that it is supposed to have in organically grown wheat such as in Italy.
I ended up finding a company that sounded promising in terms of the pretzels, it had minimal ingredients in it however after inquiring with the company, it turns out they used enriched flour with folic acid in it.
I was extremely polite in my inquiry to them, giving them some background information on why Folic Acid wasn't the best especially for children and provided them a small amount of sources. The company responded and said that they had never heard of folic acid being and concern and they were intrigued and thanked me for the info, so they can do some more research.
Both of these situations, I wasn't trying to be annoying or obnoxious but it's so important in the day that we live in, that we try to do as much as we can to spread important information to people that otherwise would not have heard it. It's a difficult thing in the world of media, censorship and outright lies that we are experiencing, but at the same time, we have to try. The best thing we can do is figure out a way to present the information in a way that is legitimate, authentic and caring. If we aren't genuine the message will fall flat and then we also lose the chance that they will listen to us again in the future. This isn't necessarily something to be too worried about with a business but with friends, loved ones and colleagues in the workplace, it is something we have to be very cognizant of.
At the end of the day, I think I achieved what I wanted to in terms of passing along information to people in a way that was helpful and hopefully set them on the right path! Time will tell, but we should sprinkle these seeds as much as we can.
What about you, do you try and make it a point to share helpful information to the people around you, and businesses? Let me know in the comments!

Good afternoon and greetings to all of us. Beautiful pictures and interesting articles that friends show.
Hey dude! I checked both your sources and they both said that Folic Acid isn't a concern if consumed in moderation and if you don't have that specific gene issue. It sounds like Folic Acid can help people without the gene issue get their vitamin B and helps produce the red blood cells we need for a healthy body. Is that not your interpretation of the sources you provided?
Infact I do, though sometimes the ones we are sharing the information with goes into arguments and all that. Still, spreading good helpful information to those around us is good and can even go as far as saving a life. For example telling a work colleague or friend about an an unhealthy eating habit can prevent the person from developing the associated diseases that can result in death. Though while sharing info we must make sure all facts are verified and true. Thanks for writing and have a nice weekend.
I also learnt something new from reading this post, Hive is definitely one of the top go to platforms to learn something, it's way closer to the source too compared to traditional social media with often many layers of information filter. I think sharing information is one of the best ways to create positive impact :)
Interesting sharing. For me, I guess I am more knowledgeable about financial stuff, stuff like savings, investing, but usually it's a sensitive topic when it comes to money. And over time I realise people just want to quick tips to get rich. Shrugs.
