Inadvertently Speeding Up
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to talk about how life just freaking keeps getting faster!

Inadvertently Speeding Up
One of the things that is really wild is how much we notice things as we get older!
The older I get, the strange things become sometimes. The other day, it felt like it was just a week ago when we migrated companies. Then this morning it felt like just last week where I was juggling 35 different customers and projects at once. Thankfully those brutal periods are over and things are leveling off a bit.. but one of the main things that remains is that time fucking flies batman!
I know I've talked about it before, as well as many other people, but holy shit does time fly. It's really wild because it can be both good as well as depressing in a lot of ways. I am watching my wonderful son grow up, and develop into such a great young little man but at the same time, it's sad to see it happen because he isn't the little squirt I could hold in my arms! Lots of good things with all of those various changes, but it hits you right in the feels, you know?
I think one of the other reasons that time is feeling like it's flying is because there are going to be a lot of additional changes coming in a few weeks, and the both trepidation as well as sort-of excitement about the changes is not something that I want to happen any faster.
I think I've read or listened to in a podcast that as we get older, time feels like it's going faster because we have so much more data in our heads to look back on. When we are kids, or at least younger, we have less experiences and that means that we have less reflection and things like that. As we age, we have a lot more things on our mind and ability to look back and think about what was going on X months or X years ago and that makes the day go by faster or something.
I think it's one of the great things, as well as a challenging thing about getting older. I am for sure appreciative of all of the things that have gone on, because I have learned quite a bit on so many different things. I've had a lot of wonderful experiences and done a lot of great things. I also have a lot more things to do in the future which is great to look forward to, but at the same time I want to try and live more in the present than I have been able to, and that is sometimes quite difficult!
I thrive and enjoy the busy-ness of life because it helps me feel motivated and continue to do the things that I love to do, while mixing in the things that I don't enjoy doing as much, but that is life. We have all kinds of things that we need to do, mixed in with things that we enjoy and there is for sure some good benefits for time going by in a faster manner.
I think I am certainly going to try and take the next few weeks as slow as I can mentally, so that I don't wish the life and weeks away because that is also not a good thing. We should be present as much as we can for the people around us!
What about you, have you noticed that life seems to constantly speed up? Let me know in the comments!

The older I get the faster it goes.
Yeah man it's annoying lol
When we were younger, we didn't notice that life is going fast. No I am amazed how fast time is running
Yeah it's wild how quickly it goes by! I don't like it! Lol
Yeah, it defintely seems like it is going by much faster. Each year it seems like it picks up speed. LIke you though, I am trying to spend more time enjoying the smaller things in life and taking them in.
Yeah dude for sure! It's so important to be able to enjoy the small things especially with the kids, but lots of other times.
I wonder if the technology is what makes it go so much faster or if it was always this way as we get older?
Wasting time on tech may make it feel that way. I have never really thought about that. It can defitnely be a time waster for sure.
