I Came Prepared
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to talk about how it was important to do some preparation just because, and how it helped me!

I Came Prepared
Do you run into situations where, at the end, you thought "damn I'm glad I was prepared!"? I sure did!
I wrote recently about the little bit of chaos going on for me at work.. where my team is getting shifted around. That means there are ALL kinds of tasks to do.. while also doing our day to day jobs! Add onto that, helping out each other because we are a good group of people and are constantly keeping a look out for one another to make sure we are in good shape. All of it means that we've been quite busy little bees.. no pun intended here on Hive :D.
With all of that chaos, I was working 12 to 14 hour days some days! Pretty wild that's for sure. I would get down to my regular work, finish a few of them and then pick up some of my tasks associated with the move. The real wonderful thing about this whole ordeal.. is that they are NOT doing any migration of the data for us, we have to do it allllllll ourselves. Well ain't that just a peach?
We aren't complaining about it that much, really. It's important work and we are all pretty dedicated to keeping our stuff up to snuff, organized and some of my colleagues on the project side have been saying that we need to clean up some of the old garbage we don't use anymore. Some of it has been sitting around since 2018! That's pretty damn old.. haha so it certainly isn't relevant anymore as there have been so many changes since then. It came time to start parting ways with that garbage that's for sure.
With all of that chaos going on, one of the things that I was glad that I was prepared on in terms of things I needed.. was to make sure I had enough posts scheduled for Hive! I know, Hive isn't that important on a grand scale of things but for me, it's a great space and also helps me in a lot of ways so I want to keep up with it as best I can, while I can. Eventually there is going to be a time where it simply isn't possible.
I know I've talked about it many times, and my friend @ekavieka is also on the train.. but post scheduling has helped so much with this! I'm able to sit down, like I am tonight, and get some content put together and scheduled out. I was scheduled out several days into the week which worked out quite well because the beginning of the week went completely sideways on me. Having a good buffer was important because two of the nights I was simply unavailable for doing some Hive activities which sucked, but you do what you gotta do. I would've been toast if I tried to squeeze in a Hive post after being up until 11pm or midnight lol.
I think this prepared mindset has trickled over for me for sure from the work side, where I am required to do a lot of scheduling of things in advance and doing a lot of planning. Managing projects is a lot of fun, and it can certainly be a lot of work, but it has taught me so many things in life that are pretty damn important! Being prepared in advance is for sure one of those great skills.
What about you, do you try to be prepared with things in life by getting ready in advance? What is an example of that? Let me know in the comments!

in Russian we have a good saying that can be translated like "it's better to be overprepared than unprepared"
it's really so
when we aren't prepared, there's great possibility we'll have it in our life
Yeah for sure! As long as you aren't super stressed out all the time from being over-prepared for everything that's a great way to think!
I actually tend to over-prepare when we travel. It drives my wife crazy, but one day she is going to be glad I am so thorough!
Hahah yeah I am middle of the road when it comes to travel. I don't go overboard but I have gotten a lot better at planning and prep. I used to just go with the clothes on my back and a shirt or two lol
I could never do that my wife even moreso.
Wow this is like 100% commitment! I give myself some slack when it comes to Hive posts whenever something more important crops up in real life. Haha. That said, I tend to overplan a lot of stuff in my life so it helps, even though I usually don't like changes in general (it's a work in progress for me to embrace change). Lol!
